About Victoria Apartment

Victoria Apartment is a light-filled ground-floor holiday home sleeping two people in one bedrooms with flexible sleeping that can be made up as two singles or a super-king. Whether you're travelling as a couple or two friends, you'll find it furnished with everything you need for a comfortable holiday on the Isle of Wight, including a newly refurbished open plan living/dining room and kitchen. Shanklin beach is a gentle walk from the door, as are shops, tea rooms, cafes and the historic thatched cottages of Shanklin Old Village. The apartment is in a charming Victorian property purpose-built to accommodate holiday-makers in comfort. The owners have recently renovated each of the five apartments, which share beautifully maintained gardens and come with parking.

Shanklin gets almost a full day of extra daylight compared to England's weekly average, so it's the perfect choice for a seaside holiday. In addition to a long sandy beach, Shanklin has an esplanade lined with picturesque wooden huts, a pier extending over the water, a mini-golf course, amusement arcades and places selling locally churned ice cream, fragrant cinnamon doughnuts, and tasty fish and chips. The Old Village has some of the oldest houses on the island, together with traditional pubs, a rock and sweet shop, and gift boutiques for picking up the perfect souvenir. The waterfalls and woodlands of Shanklin Chine are also within walking distance.

With 57 miles of coastline, you won't have to look far for a secluded spot to sunbathe, a sheltered place to swim, or a stretch of sand for building sandcastles. Two favourite local walks are via the coastal footpath - north to Sandown and south to Ventnor. There are over 200 miles of cycling routes and 500 miles of footpaths on the island, every one of them wonderfully scenic. Bicycle hire is available in Shanklin and Sandown.

Elsewhere on the island, attractions include The Needles and Alum Bay, Osborne House, Ventnor Botanic Gardens, Calbourne Watermill, Carisbrooke Castle, the Isle of Wight Zoo, and the Donkey Sanctuary. Far from being a one-season-wonder, the Isle of Wight is a superb holiday destination all year round.

Accommodation Comprises:

Victoria Apartment is a beautifully decorated ground-floor apartment with a large bay window, an open plan living/dining room and kitchen, and a large bedroom. There are two steps to the main entrance and handrail supports in the bathroom. Although not suitable for guests who use a wheelchair, it may suit those who prefer to not climb too many stairs.

  • A leather sofa and an armchair provide the ideal spot to settle back at the end of a day of fun and planning the next day's adventures. There is a Smart TV with Freeview channels and an original Victorian decorative tiled fireplace. The dining table easily seats two.
  • Newly renovated kitchen with modern appliances that include a dishwasher and a Nespresso coffee pod machine. It's well-equipped to cook and serve four people's meals, with cupboards stocked with crockery and utensils.
  • Quiet bedroom with a lovely high Victorian ceiling and a super-kingsize bed that can be separated into two 3ft-wide singles if you prefer. The bed/s feature Soft as Down pillows and duvets for your comfort. Please let the owners know your requirements when booking. This room also has clothes storage.
  • Tiled ensuite with a shower, WC and a handbasin.

Outside: The apartment has parking and a well-maintained garden for use of all guests staying in a Fernhurst Apartment. There is also a communal Laundry area with washing machine and tumble dryer.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, sheets and bath towels are included. Guests to provide beach towels if they are required. Short breaks (minimum of three nights) are possible, depending on availability. Pets and smoking are not permitted.
