Woodpecker Cottage is in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is a short stroll from the beautiful South West Coast Path and within easy reach of beaches so spectacular that they'll have you mentally moving here before your holiday is over. The North Devon holiday cottage is in the quiet coastal village of Bucks Cross and only a short stroll from a village shop well stocked with essentials. It sleeps four people in two bedrooms with room for a travel cot and is ideal for couples or families. The owners have done a fantastic job making Woodpecker Cottage feel welcoming and comfortable in all seasons. It's beautifully finished and furnished throughout, with lots of lovely touches that make it feel extra-special without being so fancy that you can't relax and feel at home.
Bucks Cross is perfectly located for a beach holiday in North Devon. You can walk from the cottage through woodlands to Bucks Mills, a secluded beach with waterfalls and rock pools. Alternatively, continue along the South West Coast Path for five miles to picturesque Clovelly or continue through the pristine and protected countryside to Hartland and Hartland Abbey. Cycling and mountain biking are also popular, with a fantastic choice of routes to suit all abilities, including the Tarka Trail between Bideford and Barnstaple. Bike hire is available locally, and there is a good bus service. Westward Ho!, Bude, Croyde, and Saunton are all gorgeous sandy beaches for swimming and surfing.
Spend happy days exploring historic sites like Tintagel Castle, cemented in history by Geoffrey of Monmouth, who cited the medieval clifftop fortress as the birthplace of King Arthur. Kids love The Milky Way Adventure Park and The Big Sheep, while adventurous souls can try coasteering or sea kayaking. The Affinity Outlet Shopping Centre and Bideford are the nearest places with big supermarkets and High Street shops. Still, it's worth going a few miles further to shop at Barnstaple's Victorian Pannier Market.
Woodpecker Cottage is a fantastic choice whether you're looking to escape from the rat race and unwind in peaceful surroundings or you're planning a holiday packed with excitement and a different adventure every day. It is available all year round for holiday bookings.

Woodpecker Cottage is a single-storey holiday home with traditional features and modern comforts.
Outside: Being detached means Woodpecker Cottage has no immediate neighbours. The paved patio has an outdoor table and chairs, and there is ample off-street parking.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are all included. A travel cot and a high chair are available by arrangement. Guests to bring cot bedding and beach towels. One well-behaved small to medium sized dog is welcome - please speak with the owner before booking. Smoking is not permitted.
