Sunnybank sleeps up to eight guests and provides the perfect place for a relaxing break in the very heart of the beautiful Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in Devon. Providing modern light and airy holiday accommodation with fantastic panoramic views across the Culm Valley, Sunnybank has been furnished with the needs of holiday guests in mind, to ensure a comfortable and memorable holiday.
The Blackdown Hills is a 'hidden gem' of an area in Devon and Somerset which is often overlooked. It has so much to offer with its secluded valleys, wooded hilltops and enchantingly beautiful scenery. Dotted with fascinating landmarks, the area is rich in local history and interesting places just waiting to be explored.
Situated just outside the village of Hemyock, Sunnybank is accessed via a quiet country lane and sits on the lee of Pen Cross hill looking out over the rolling countryside and beyond to Dartmoor.
Conveniently located, Sunnybank is just fifteen minutes from the M5 motorway and only two and a half hours from both the Midlands and London, providing an ideal base from which to explore the whole of the South West. The north and south coastlines are just forty five minutes away by car, along with Dartmoor and Exmoor and there are plenty of local attractions for those who prefer not to travel.
Sunnybank overlooks Culm Pyne where there is a private carp pond that guests can fish if they choose. Alternatively you can bring your own bikes and explore the quiet country lanes - beware some of them are quite hilly! There is plenty of safe storage space for bicycles.
In the village of Hemyock there are tennis courts that can be hired for the more energetic. There are regular banger racing meetings at Smeatharpe Stadium; kart racing at Mansell Raceway and 4x4 driving at Landrover Experience West Country. Pony treking is available on all the moors and there are a large number of National Trust properties to visit in the area. Exeter is within easy reach with its Cathedral, Quay, good quality shops and eating establishments and the historic market town of Honiton is ten miles away with its twice weekly markets, Antique and Curio shops. For the children, Crealy Park is very popular, as is Diggerland which is a must for the more mechanically minded.
Relax and enjoy the outdoor six person hot tub on the second sheltered patio which offers privacy and spectacular views.
