Riversmeet is a superb holdiay home on the beachfront in Instow. It's modern and spacious, sleeping six people in three bedrooms with living spaces that are child and dog-friendly. If you're looking for a Devon holiday cottage with nothing between you and spectacular views of the sandy beach and the point where the rivers Taw and Torridge meet, this self-catering property is perfect! Settle down on your patio or sofa to watch the boats and birds go by, or cross the road with your bucket and space and settle in for a day of swimming, sandcastles and sunbathing. There are two excellent pubs, the Instow Arms and the Boathouse, within walking distance. You're also only a short stroll from the village shop, deli and cafe. We can't think of anywhere better for a family holiday in North Devon, and we think you'll love it too.
Instow has everything you're looking for in a coastal holiday. There's a sandy beach with parts that are dog friendly all year round, lots of opportunities for swimming, paddle boarding, sailing and fishing, somewhere to buy food for self-catering and places to eat if you don't want to cook. If you tire of Instow beach, there's a three-mile scenic walk over the river and through North Burrows Country Park to Westward Ho! Saunton Sands is over the River Taw, and North Devon beaches include Woolacombe, Putsborough Sands, Croyde Bay, Sandymere, and North Burrows.
North Devon attractions are plentiful and varied. As well as beaches, there are family-friendly attractions like Tapley Park, The BIG Sheep, Skern Lodge, the Milky Way, the Ultimate Adventure Centre, and Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park. You can hike the South West Coast Path, go surfing or coasteering, or walk or cycle along the traffic-free Tarka Trail towards Barnstaple and Dartmoor National Park. Reputed to be the birthplace of King Arthur, Tintagel Castle occupies a stunning clifftop location about an hour south of Instow. Stop off at Boscastle for the harbour and the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic along the way. Book a trip over the Bristol Channel to Lundy Island on the MS Oldenburg for a memorable day out.
