Rest Cottage is a true hidden gem, offering a cosy retreat for up to four guests in two bedrooms. With immense charm and character, the cottage is ideally placed in Devon's beautiful South Hams area on the south coast and is equidistant from the popular sailing town of Salcombe and Dartmouth. With stunning beaches nearby for lazy days (Torcross is within walking distance) and the South West Coastal Path providing miles of wonderful walks this is an ideal retreat for a holiday by the sea.
True to its name, guests are guaranteed a relaxing break when they stay at Rest Cottage. Dating back centuries, this lovely cottage has been sympathetically restored to provide modern conveniences that perfectly blend with original character including lots of beams and an inglenook fireplace. Seaviews from the garden and master bedroom are the icing on the cake!
Rest Cottage sits on the edge of the Devonshire village of Stokenham which has two pubs serving good food (within walking distance) and a farm shop which stocks an excellent range of goodies. A wide choice of shops can be found at Dartmouth, Salcombe and Kingsbridge (a short drive away) where you can buy everything from groceries to gifts.
If you are looking for a beach holiday, you are spoilt for choice with the golden sands of Gara Rock, Mattiscombe (with Start Point lighthouse which is worth a visit) and Blackpool Sands within easy reach. The popular surfing beach of Bantham is also close by, as is Bigbury-on-Sea where you can book a lesson to learn the art of riding the waves or take a trip to Burgh Island with its renowned art-deco hotel on the 'sea tractor'.
East Portlemouth is another popular day trip out with its lovely beaches, from which you can take a ferry ride across to Salcombe, or head for Dartmouth and take a river cruise, visit the castle or just sit on the quayside and watch the boats bobbing on the water.

Outside: There is a large garden which is private and has a lawn, terrace with outdoor furniture (plus BBQ and chiminea) for relaxing and flowerbeds providing colour in the summer months. There is ample parking for two cars on the driveway.
Additional information: Short breaks available on request. Smoking is not permitted inside the cottage at any time. Dogs may be accepted by arrangement - please enquire.
No EV charging. Available in Kingsbridge.
