Poppy’s Barn is a place to slow down and enjoy time together.
Set at Higher Mullacott Farm, this refurbished barn combines traditional stonework with comfortable interiors. Start the day at your own pace, head out to explore Ilfracombe or Woolacombe, then return for an evening in.
The bedroom has a superking bed and an ensuite shower room, while underfloor heating brings extra comfort to cooler stays.
Your private outdoor seating area offers space for a barbecue or a quiet drink. You can also enjoy the farm’s 3.5 acres of shared grounds and borrow beach equipment for days by the sea.
Whether you’re planning coastal walks or a few days away from everyday routines, Poppy’s Barn offers a comfortable retreat for two.

Around the farm
Guests share 3.5 acres of grounds, with countryside and sea views, a children’s play area, outdoor games and a Fairy Treasure Hunt. Our communal Beach Hut has equipment to borrow, including surfboards, buckets, spades and windbreaks.
Exploring North Devon
Discover Ilfracombe’s harbour and restaurants, spend a day on Woolacombe’s sandy beach, or explore the South West Coast Path and Exmoor. The farm offers a countryside base for enjoying both coast and countryside.
Welcome pack and thoughtful extras
A complimentary homemade Devonshire cream tea awaits you on arrival, with scones, clotted cream and strawberry jam, alongside fresh milk and tea, coffee and sugar sachets.
Children receive their own welcome packs where (under 16's).
Bedding, bath and hand towels are provided, together with hand wash and an initial supply of toilet rolls. You’ll also find tea towels, oven gloves, washing-up essentials, foil, cling film, bin bags and cleaning supplies, plus barbecue briquettes and firelighters for outdoor cooking. Please bring your own beach towels.
Good to know
The grounds and outdoor activities are shared with guests staying in the other cottages. Pets and smoking are not permitted. Check-in is from 4pm, with departure before 10am.

Accommodation
Poppy’s Barn has an upside-down layout, with a spacious bedroom and ensuite downstairs and a bright, open-plan living area upstairs.
Downstairs
The carpeted bedroom leads off the entrance hallway and has a superking bed, which can be arranged as two full-sized single beds on request. There’s also space for a cot, available on request.
The ensuite bathroom includes a shower with two shower heads, a heated towel rail, WC and handbasin.
Upstairs
Filled with natural light, the open-plan living space brings together the kitchen, dining and lounge areas.
The well-equipped kitchen runs along the rear wall, with sage green Shaker-style cabinets and views over the garden. Appliances include a washing machine and tumble dryer, handy for longer stays or holidays with a baby.
A tall dining table with two stools provides a spot for meals together. Afterwards, settle onto the leather sofa, with cushions and throws for cosy evenings in front of the TV.
Outside
Enjoy your own private terrace with a bistro set and charcoal kettle barbecue, alongside shared access to the farm’s 3.5 acres of grounds. Parking is available near the cottage.
Additional information
Utilities, Wi-Fi, bed linen and bath towels are included. Please bring your own beach towels and cot bedding if needed. Smoking and pets are not permitted.
