Bicclescombe Grange, built around 1890, lies on the edge of the seaside town of Ilfracombe and is set at the end of a private drive, within four acres of superb gardens, adjoining open fields and countryside. With eight bedrooms and accommodation on three floors including one ground floor wheelchair accessible bedroom it provides very flexible sleeping arrangements for up to 26 people. Fantastic facilities include a 40' indoor heated swimming pool, hot tub, full sized snooker, table tennis, large screen TV and lots of toys for the little ones. And the pool is connected to the house so there's no need to go outside to get to it! We have a well appointed kitchen with granite tops, oak cabinets and marble tiles, range cooker and American fridge freezer. It's a great space to cook in, or you could always ask one of our local caterers to come in and treat you.
There's plenty of space to just relax and enjoy yourselves, or maybe wander the grounds and perhaps help feed the alpacas. And if you would like to explore further there's lots to do in the surrounding area. Bicclescombe Park is at the foot of our drive and has very well tended gardens with ponds, tennis courts, play area, working mill and tea room. And Ilfracombe itself, just a short walk or drive away has plenty of bars, pubs, restaurants, Victorian segregated beaches, and a lively harbour where you can take a boat trip, or just while away the day with Verity!
Some of North Devon's beautiful sandy beaches are just fifteen minutes away where you can enjoy the sunshine or some of the best surfing in the country. There are lots of other water sports to try too, or on dry land there are many more activities including horse riding, clay pigeon shooting and quad biking all close by. Or maybe a trip to the nearby funicular cliff railway at Lynton and Lynmouth followed by a cream tea or some fish and chips might tempt you. Whatever you choose to do, you're sure to have a fantastic time to remember at Bicclescombe Grange.
