Willans Farmhouse is a traditional stone cottage on a family-run farm in the beautiful Dentdale valley. There is space for up to seven family members or friends to sleep in four bedrooms, with guests enjoying gorgeous countryside views that include nearby Whernside. The pretty village of Dent is two miles from the house and real ale pubs and a well-stocked village shop are a picturesque walk or cycle away if you prefer not to drive.
Dentdale is the perfect base for an active holiday outdoors. The valley is in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and there are miles of paths for walking, cycling and horseriding, including The Dales Way and The Pennine Cycleway. Visitors can scale peaks or delve deep into underground caverns, fell run and fish. There is more than enough in the national park to keep even the most adventurous person satisfied but those who really can't sit still will appreciate knowing that the Lake District National Park, Morecambe Bay and the Forest of Bowland AONB are all just over half an hour's drive from the cottage.
Visitors who prefer more gentle thrills are also well-catered for in Dentdale and the surrounding area. Yorkshire's fertile countryside make it something of a foodie's paradise, with local produce readily available at farmers' markets, shops, pubs and restaurants. The Settle to Carlisle Railway stops at Dent station and is a relaxing way to see the countryside on a route that crosses the famous Ribblehead Viaduct. The region has a long history that is preserved both in local architecture and museums, while nearby towns provide lots of shops and places to eat and drink.
Willans Farmhouse is comfortable and unfussy, happy to let the beauty of the surroundings do the talking. The well-equipped kitchen, living room with open fire and quiet bedrooms provide a relaxed base from which families and friends can enjoy the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District. The owners have another property, Parkers Cottage, half a mile away. The two cottages can be booked together to accommodate groups of up to 12 people.

Outside: The farmhouse has a private enclosed courtyard garden with garden furniture, and off-street parking for three cars.
Additional Information: All utilities, bed linen, towels and WiFi are included. The owners provide a starter basket of fuel for the fireplace with more available if necessary. A cot and highchair are available in the cottage ,two well-behaved dogs are welcome through prior arrangement. Smoking is not permitted inside the cottage.
