About Underley Grange

Underley Grange sleeps sixteen guests and is an ideal holiday retreat for friends or family who want to spend time together or celebrate a very special occasion. It is perfectly located close to the Lake District National Park, the North Yorkshire Dales and The Trough of Bowland, making it an ideal place for visiting the many attractions and places of interest that these areas have to offer. Located amongst spectacular countryside Underley Grange is perfectly placed for exploring this beautiful area which is rich in history and attractions of pure natural beauty.

This delightful large holiday home is located on the Underley Estate where there are a wide range of outdoor activities to enjoy on your doorstep. Routed trails and footpaths wind their way through the estate grounds, which are a haven for wildlife and perfect country for those who enjoy walking.

Keen fishermen will be pleased to know there are opportunities to try fly fishing on private sections of The River Lune, renowned for its salmon in September and October and sea trout during the summer. There are approximately one and a half miles of private water on the estate to enjoy, including pools such as the Broken Banks and Catamaran. Fishing is by prior arrangement, for an additional fee and tackle can be hired on the estate.

Whilst staying at Underley Estate you can try clay pigeon shooting where you can participate in this sport amongst the beautiful rolling countryside of the Lake District, with the stunning backdrop of The River Lune - the perfect way to spend a couple of hours.

The estate offers a choice of lovely walks with bridle tracks and footpaths taking you over rolling fields and through woods, along with private walks that are only accessible to those staying on the estate. Guests also have preferential rates on Kirkby Lonsdale's 'pay and play' 18 hole parkland course that forms part of the Underley Estate (this can be booked in advance).

Location (Cumbria)

An early Victorian farmhouse, part of which dates back to the 14th Century, the property has recently been fully refurbished and modernised, and now provides exceedingly comfortable holiday accommodation for up to sixteen guests. Downstairs there are five entertaining rooms, numerous utility rooms, a games room and excellent outdoor clothing facilities.

  • Lovely dining room providing an elegant place for everyone to enjoy supper with large dining table and chairs.
  • Pantry where an additional dishwasher is located, along with an ice maker and glass washer.
  • Rear hall with computer that has internet access.
  • Twin bedroom with two single beds and en-suite shower room.
  • Utility room.
  • Games room with snooker table (full size), a darts board and Hi-Fi for listening to music.

Outside: Underley Grange sits within extensive gardens and grounds with an outdoor heated swimming pool (available during the summer months only), hot tub/spa, and plenty of off-road parking. Providing so much space both inside and out, this impressive holiday home is ideal for family gatherings, reunions of friends, celebrating a special occasion (including bespoke wedding receptions) or simply getting away with friends to relax.

Additional information: Catering can be arranged (chefs, butlers, cleaners etc). Short breaks can be offered and alternative changeover days can be accommodated where possible - please enquire. Plenty of off road parking is provided. Electric, heating and water are included as are towels and all linen.

Prices: As this is such a unique property, the owners would rather quote on an individual basis. The peak rates here refer to Christmas and New Year. Short breaks start from £1900.
