Feathered Nest is on a farm in North Yorkshire, perfectly positioned between the Nidderdale and the Howardian Hills and only a few miles from the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks. You could not wish for a better place to stay if you enjoy spectacular views, memorable walks, countless cycling and mountain biking opportunities, and exciting attractions. The bijou holiday cottage is in rural East Tanfield, six miles from Masham and close to Ripon. It welcomes couples who love everything about it, from the Shaker-style kitchen for self-catering to the sumptuous bedding on the superking-sized bed.
Once a thriving medieval village, East Tanfield is an idyllically peaceful spot five miles north of Ripon. You'll find a fantastic array of amenities, a market square, lots of independently owned shops, and a cathedral. It's worth taking the time to wander around the pocket-sized city where attractions include the World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden, Ripon Racecourse, and the Ripon Workhouse and Garden Museum. Feathered Nest is only half an hour's drive from Harrogate and 20 minutes from Thirsk, giving you excellent access to even more Yorkshire-owned places to eat, drink and shop.
The views from your bedroom window will inspire you to get outside and stroll beside the River Ure, around Nosterfield Nature Reserve, along the Ripon Rowel Walk and through Hackfall Woods. Yorkshire is famous for the quality of its cycling trails. The cottage has secure bike storage, and the owners can arrange free bike hire to make your holiday even more enjoyable. Go horseriding through the Dales, luxuriate in a spa day, and browse local markets, butchers, grocers, and delicatessens for regional ingredients to cook yourself a proper Yorkshire feast back at the cottage.
Feathered Nest is available for holiday bookings all year round. It's convenient for the A1 and the Harrogate Convention Centre, so it is also ideal for those staying in the area for business who want the comfort, privacy and space of a home rather than staying at a hotel. Feathered Nest is a small stone cottage on the owner's beautifully kept farmstead. Accommodation is over two levels.

Outside: The cottage has a courtyard gravelled with Yorkshire stone with two seating areas so you can eat outside and enjoy the views. There is parking for two cars and secure bike storage.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. There is a barbecue but guests will need to bring charcoal. Smoking is not permitted.
