The Granary is at Low Costa Mill near Pickering - a fantastic venue with amenities that include an indoor swimming pool, children's play area, and 10 acres of grounds that include woodlands, gardens and a riverbank. The spacious stone holiday cottage sleeps six people in three bedrooms and suits families or friends. It is one of seven superb self-catering properties at Low Costa Mill. When booked together, they sleep 33 people and are perfect if you're planning a reunion or special celebration with your extended family and friends.
Pickering is a lively market town close to the southern border of the North York Moors National Park. It is less than two miles from The Granary, and you can walk or cycle from the cottage to do your shopping, sightsee or eat out. Pickering's attractions include a thriving Monday market, the remains of a 13th Century castle, the Beck Isle Museum, and the medieval wall paintings at St Peter & St Paul's Church. The North York Moors Railway has a terminus at Pickering. The heritage railway takes passengers through 24 miles of spectacular scenery, stopping at places like Goathland and Grosmont.
The landscape around Pickering is beautiful in every season, attracting visitors who love being outdoors and staying active. If you want to explore further, you'll find fantastic footpaths winding over the moors, passing through Dalby Forest, and following the stunning North York Moors Coast. Cyclists will also find an exciting array of cycling routes, mountain bike trails and bridleways that will help them enjoy their holiday to its fullest. The owners of Low Costa Mill are very cycle-friendly, providing secure bike storage and a place to wash bikes and undertake any required maintenance.
Local attractions include historical buildings like Rievalux Abbey, Castle Howard, and Helmsley Castle. Have a day of non-stop fun at Flamingoland, Go Ape in Dalby Forest, or the Alpamere Water Park. The North York Moors coast and seaside towns, including Scarborough, Whitby, and Robin Hood's Bay are also within reach for a day out. You can have a wonderful day without leaving the grounds of Low Costa Mill - staying to play, build dens, wander through woodland and sit quietly beside Costa Beck and let the sound of flowing water soothe your soul.

The Granary has echos of its past in the stone walls and exposed oak beams but is otherwise a modern holiday home providing 4-Star accommodation over two levels.

Outside: Guests have use of the shared amenities that include plenty of places to relax within the 10 acres of grounds, and an indoor swimming pool. Guests have access to lockable bike storage, along with bike wash and bike maintenance facilities. The cottage has parking and Low Costa Mill has an EV charging point (charges apply).
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are provided. Guests to supply towels to use by the pool or at the beach if they are required. Short breaks are possible outside of peak season, depending on availability. Smoking and pets are not permitted (please see owners other dog-friendly cottages if you would like to bring your pet).

Shorter stays of 2 or 3 nights often available outside of school holidays. During school holidays we offer minimum 7 nights with Friday arrivals only. We do not host stag or hen weekends.
