Carter's Cottage is a welcoming self-catering retreat for two guests and part of a collection of 4-Star holiday homes available to rent at Low Costa Mill. Nicely presented throughout, guests can expect a warm welcome and excellent amenities which include an indoor swimming pool and ten acres of grounds providing plenty of space to relax outside when the sun shines. With an open-fire for cosy nights in and a flexible bedroom that can be made up as either a king or twin, Carter's Cottage is a popular choice for couples looking to enjoy the many attractions and beauty of North Yorkshire and its stunning coastline and moors.
Located on the outskirts of Pickering, Low Costa Mill has an excellent range of amenities close to hand and the North York Moors National Park within easy reach. The location is ideal for lovers of the great outdoors with excellent opportunities for walking from the front door and pubs, restaurants and cafes for a meal out in Pickering. The attractive historic town has a regular market every Monday and a good range of shops for stocking up on local produce and forgotten provisions. Take the self-guided walking tour to get your bearings, starting from the town library, passing three watermills, Pickering Castle, and other interesting historic buildings along the way. Other local attractions include the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, St Peter & St Paul's Church with its renowned rare medieval wall paintings and Beck Isle Museum providing an insight into local rural life.
North Yorkshire is a top holiday choice for cyclists whether you enjoy a more sedate leafy lane pedal or the thrill of mountain biking. For those who want to bring their bikes along, Low Costa Mill has secure bike storage and a place to fix and wash down bikes or you can hire them locally. Dalby Forest is only a few miles from Low Costa Mill, with tracks and trails for cyclists and walkers, as well as Go Ape for a tree top adventure. The Moor to Sea Cycle Network links Pickering with Dalby Forest, Whitby and Scarborough opening up yet more opportunities for cyclists. For those who prefer a different sort of saddle, there is also a very good riding stables, Friars Hill in Sinnington.
Local attractions include Rievalux Abbey, the Sea Life Centre in Scarborough and the seaside towns and villages of Whitby, Scarborough, Staithes and Robin Hood's Bay, all of which are easily accessible from the cottage. The area is great for foodies, history buffs and people who just want to sit quietly, relax and appreciate a beautiful view.

Carter's Cottage is cosy and welcoming and offers ground floor dog-friendly accommodation. Located next to the duck pond and with parking alongside the cottage, it is a good choice for couples and those who prefer to not climb stairs.
Outside: Guests have their own outside seating area as well as the shared use of on-site amenities including the indoor pool and woodland walks. Guests have access to lockable bike storage, along with bike wash and bike maintenance facilities. There is parking outside the cottage and the site has an EV charging point (charges apply).
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are all provided. Guests to bring towels to use by the pool and the beach if required. Smoking is not permitted. Dogs are welcome in this cottage by prior arrangement - supplement applies (the owner has pet-free holiday cottages - details can be seen on their website).
