Leat Cottage is on Low Costa Mill, where amenities include a swimming pool, 10 acres of woodland to explore and gardens to enjoy, a children's play area, and a big lawn with outdoor games and space for playing football. The cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms, with a folding bed to accommodate an extra child if required. It is one of seven superb self-catering cottages on the estate, which is on the outskirts of Pickering and borders Costa Beck. Each cottage has a 4-Star rating and can be booked together to accommodate extended families or groups of friends.
Pickering is just south of the North York Moors National Park and close to North Riding Forest. It's perfect for anyone who loves being outdoors and active in the countryside, with lots of wonderful footpaths on the doorstep. The pretty market town has excellent amenities with places to eat, drink and shop, and a regular market every Monday. Take the self-guided walking tour that starts at the library and passes three watermills, Pickering Castle, and other historic buildings. Other local attractions include the heritage North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Beck Isle Museum, and St Peter & St Paul Church with rare medieval wall paintings.
North Yorkshire is a dream destination for cyclists and mountain bikers. Low Costa Mill has secure bike storage, so bring or hire a bike and spend your holiday riding along sweeping country lanes where challenging hill climbs are rewarded with panoramic views and a swift roll downhill. Dalby Forest is only a few miles from Low Costa Mill, with trails to suit all abilities. The Moor to Sea Cycle Network links Pickering with Dalby Forest, Whitby and Scarborough, and there are also skills parks, forest tracks and bridleways to discover.
Local attractions include Rievalux Abbey, Flamingo Land, the Sea Life Centre in Scarborough, and the Alpamere Water Park. Spend a day at the seaside in Whitby, Scarborough, Staithes, or Robin Hood's Bay, all of which are easily accessible from the cottage. The area is great for foodies, history buffs, active families and people who just want to sit quietly and appreciate a beautiful view.

Leat Cottage is on the side of a central courtyard with a private garden at the rear. The brick cottage has accommodation all on the ground floor level.
Outside: Guests can use all of the shared amenities like the swimming pool, play area and woodland walks. The cottage has a lovely garden which overlooks the Mill Leat which attracts lots of wildlife including herons, ducks, moorhens and even kingfishers. There is a lawn and a bench to sit in the sunshine, along with parking outside the cottage and the site has an EV charging point.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are all provided. Guests to bring towels to use by the pool and the beach if required. Smoking is not permitted. Unfortunately no dogs in this cottage but the owner has other dog-friendly holiday cottages.
