Kempton, refurbished to a high standard in 2023, is a modern and spacious family holiday house located in one of the most popular destinations in the Lake District National Park; Bowness-on-Windermere. The location is a perfect choice for anyone wanting a beautifully decorated, well equipped 3 bedroom house within walking distance of both Bowness and Windermere village centres where you will find many shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, supermarkets and also the beautiful and inviting Lake Windermere itself! Kempton is an upside house making the most of the beautiful view of Lake Windermere from the large lounge upstairs. The 3 fully en-suite king size bedrooms, sleeping 6 plus an infant in a travel cot, are all ground floor and the spacious lounge, stylish dining room and very well equipped kitchen are all on the first floor with an upstairs loo too! The house has a charming and spacious enclosed patio with table, chairs, BBQ and parasol for those balmy evenings where you can enjoy a few drinks after a busy day out enjoying yourselves! The huge bonus with Kempton is that it has parking for 3 cars making it the perfect choice for a large family or group of friends who are looking to enjoy a Lake District getaway in superb, great value holiday accommodation in a wonderful popular location.

Windermere is incredibly scenic regardless of the weather or the time of the year that you visit. It is difficult for a photograph to do justice to the magnificence of the landscape, and it is only when you see the mountains and the vast body of water in real life that you appreciate why the Victorians revered Windermere as such a stylish holiday destination. Despite its ongoing popularity, the Lakes still feels rugged and wild, and you don't have to walk far from town to find yourself immersed in this incredible landscape which has inspired artists and writers over the centuries.

One of the best ways to enjoy sightseeing is on the water. Whether you charter a boat, hire a kayak, or book a ticket on one of the regular hop-on-hop-off sightseeing tours, make sure you get out onto the water at least once. Fans of Peter Rabbit, Mrs Tiggywinkle and Jemima Puddleduck should put aside a few hours to tour The World of Beatrix Potter, while the exhibits at Windermere Jetty bring the history of this area vividly to life. Nearby attractions include activity centres where visitors can go quad biking, walk along a high-rope course, shoot clay pigeons and try their hand at archery. There are golf courses, stables, country houses, safari parks and zoos, and miles of beautiful footpaths, bridleways and cycle routes.

Accommodation Comprises:

Kempton has an upside-down layout that works well for modern families. Accommodation is over two levels.

Downstairs:

  • A covered porch ensures guests stay dry as they unlock and enter the house where all of the bedrooms branch off a central hallway and stairs lead to the first floor.
  • Master bedroom with a king-sized bed and proper storage. The ensuite has a corner bath and a walk-in shower, WC and a handbasin.
  • Second double bedroom with a king-sized bed, ample storage and an ensuite with a shower, WC and a handbasin.
  • Bedroom three is also a double, although slightly smaller and with a double bed. The ensuite has a shower, WC and a handbasin.
  • Beds are made up for guests arrival and bath towels are provided. A travel cot (no bedding) is available if required.

Upstairs:

  • Lovely living room with windows that frame views over the garden towards Windermere. Guests can watch TV, read or play games, and there is ample seating for everyone. The owners have provided information about the local area as well as books and family-friendly games.
  • Glass doors separate the living room from the dining room, which is beautifully decorated and suitable for family and celebratory meals.
  • Fitted kitchen with quality appliances and plenty of utensils, crockery, glasses and cutlery for six people. The breakfast bar is ideal for keeping an eye on the kids while you cook or just to hang out with a cuppa. A double oven, slow cooker and a steamer make it easy to cook the meals you want, while the dishwasher helps with the cleaning up.
  • Cloakroom with a WC and handbasin.

Outside: The patio is enclosed for privacy and has seating and a barbecue. There is off-street parking for three cars.

Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. One well behaved dog is welcome free of charge (2 small dogs may be accepted by prior arrangement with the owner at an additional charge of £40). Smoking is not permitted.
