About Puffin Cottage

Puffin Cottage is a lovely holiday home in a beautiful location. As one of six 4-Star self-catering properties on Robin Hill Farm, it sits at the end of a private half-mile-long driveway amongst 14 acres of fields and woodland. It's a tranquil spot that feels blissfully removed from your regular daily routine, yet only two miles from Bideford and a short drive from the coast. All the cottages at Robin Hill Farm, including Puffin, are family-friendly, with a private garden and parking. Guests can use the indoor swimming pool, huge games room, and outdoor children's play area. You can book multiple cottages for a holiday with your extended family or friends, depending on availability.

Bideford is a harbour town where the Rivers Taw and Torridge meet and empty into the Atlantic Ocean. Once the third busiest port in England, it's mainly used by popular sightseeing boat tours. There is an excellent choice of shops ranging from the historic Victorian pannier market to the Atlantic Village outlet, independent shops and high street names. Other amenities include supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and bars. Bideford has all you'll need for your self-catering stay, but if you want more choice, Barnstaple is 11 miles and a 30-minute drive away.

Day trips can be everything from a gentle day at the seaside to a thrilling ride on a rollercoaster. Westward Ho! and Peppercombe Beach are a 10-12 minute drive from the cottage, with Saunton Sands, Croyde, and Woolacombe not much further away. The South West Coast Path is particularly gorgeous around here, with breathtaking ocean views and a wealth of flora and fauna. The BIG Sheep, The Milky Way Adventure Park, and The Ultimate Adventure Centre are within a few miles, while RHS Gardens Rosemoor, Boscastle, Tintagel, and Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park are within an hour. Exmoor and Dartmoor are also nearby for horseriding, mountain biking, hiking, and climbing.

Accommodation Comprises:

Puffin Cottage is in part of a converted barn. Features include original stone walls that help to regulate the temperature, and accommodation over two levels.

Downstairs:

  • The front door opens into the ground floor entry hall.
  • There's a twin bedroom with two single beds in an L-shaped formation on the ground floor.
  • A family bathroom has a shower over the bath, WC and a handbasin.

Upstairs:

  • Stone walls, light colours, and natural light make the living area a place where you can relax day or night. The TV has Freeview channels and a DVD player, and there's a digital radio if you'd rather listen to music.
  • Prepare and eat meals in the welcoming and well-equipped kitchen diner, where appliances include a dishwasher and a coffee pod machine.
  • The main bedroom is upstairs. It's furnished with a king-sized bed and storage. Bed linen and bath towels are included. A cot is available but guests will need to bring cot bedding.
  • The second upstairs bedroom has bunk beds and is ideal for children.
  • Handy for the middle of the night, there's a WC and handbasin upstairs.

Outside: In addition to using the swimming pool, games room, play area and grounds, all cottages at Robin Hill Farm have a private garden and parking.

Additional Information: A travel cot, highchair, stair gate, and bed guard are available. Guests to bring beach/pool towels and cot bedding. Smoking and pets are not permitted in Puffin Cottage.
