Faugh Beeches Cottage is a comfortable, well-equipped single-storey cottage on a working farm in the peaceful Cumbrian hamlet of Faugh. Ideal for couples and families, it sleeps four with a king-size bedroom and a flexible twin room that can be made into a double, making it equally suited to two couples or a family with two children. It has a large enclosed garden, off-road parking and storage for outdoor equipment.
The surrounding countryside offers plenty of opportunities for walking, with views towards the North Pennines, Lakeland fells and south-west Scotland. The dog-friendly String of Horses pub is just 100 metres away, with Brampton, Hadrian’s Wall and Lanercost Priory also nearby.
Further afield, explore Vindolanda, Carlisle Castle, Kielder Forest, the Northern Lake District and Northumberland National Park, or head across the border into south-west Scotland.

Accommodation comprises:
Kitchen – Well equipped with a gas oven, grill and four-ring hob, microwave, fridge with small freezer compartment, slimline dishwasher, slow cooker and toaster. A good range of cookware is provided, including oven dishes, roasting trays, pans, utensils and cutlery.
Dining room – Dining table with seating for four, with crockery, bowls, pasta dishes, cups, glasses and cutlery provided.
Living room – Comfortable three-seater and two-seater sofas, TV, log-burner-style electric fire and a selection of board games.
King-size bedroom – King-size bed with duvet and pillows, two wardrobes, chest of drawers and bedside tables with lamps.
Twin/double bedroom – Two single beds which can be made up as a double, with wardrobe and bedside tables with lamps.
Bathroom – Bath with shower over, WC and towel stand.
Boot & utility room – Washing machine and tumble dryer, laundry basket, clothes airer, ironing board, iron and vacuum cleaner. There is plenty of space for drying wet clothing and outdoor kit, as well as storing items such as walking boots and poles, bikes, paddleboards, wetsuits, kayaks and golf equipment.
Enclosed garden – A private garden enclosed by a combination of hedging and approximately 4ft stone wall, with two outdoor sofas, a fire pit and croquet set. Wood for the fire pit is provided free of charge.
Lockable shed – Provides secure, dry storage for bikes and other outdoor equipment, as well as housing the recycling containers and cleaning equipment.
Enclosed rear yard – A hard-surfaced area ideal for washing and rinsing muddy or wet outdoor equipment, with an outside tap and hose provided.
Parking – Private off-road parking for two vehicles.
Accessibility – The cottage is single-storey but may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility due to steps at each entrance, a large step down into the bathroom and a shower over the bath. Please contact the owner before booking to discuss any accessibility needs.
