Hendersyde Farm offers a choice of three Four Star holiday cottages each offering a warm Scottish welcome. Perfectly placed in idyllically tranquil positions with wonderful views, near and far, to The Cheviot Hills in Northumberland. Under three miles from Kelso, the cottages are an excellent base for exploring the many attractions of the Scottish Borders, Northumberland, with its stunning coastline and Edinburgh's vibrant city centre.
For those who want to purely relax, the setting is blissfully quiet with only the sound of bird song and wildlife to interrupt the tranquillity. Enjoy lovely walks across the farm, along the lanes and paths from the cottage doors, through beautiful countryside (keep your eye out for deer), sit by the River Tweed and watch the salmon leaping out of the water (you may even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of otter), or simply relax in the cottage gardens, soaking up the beauty of the rolling Border countryside.
The attractive market town of Kelso sits right in the heart of the Scottish Borders, just over two miles away, packed full of historic charm and impressive architecture. The famous poet and novelist Sir Walter Scott once described Kelso as 'Scotland's most beautiful (if not romantic) town' which is hardly surprising given its immense appeal. Sitting on the banks of the River Tweed, Kelso's magnificent cobbled market square and quaint streets are home to an array of eateries and shops selling everything from the finest malt whisky to the softest of cashmere. Spend your days browsing the shops for holiday gifts, wandering around the ruins of the Kelso Abbey (one of the Four Border Abbeys) or visiting impressive Floors Castle which has been welcoming visitors for forty years. Kelso Racecourse is another attraction for those with a passion for horses and racing.
For outdoor enthusiasts, The Borders offers some of the finest salmon and trout fishing. It also has many varied walks, golf at Kelso's town course within the race course and the challenging Roxburghe Championship Course, horse riding and excellent cycling along the 'Four Abbeys', 'Tweed', 'Coast and Castles' and 'Border Loop' cycle routes.
With tranquil surroundings, stunning panoramic views that stretch as far as the eye can see, incredible outdoor activities and an abundance of attractions for days out, Hendersyde Farm Holiday Cottages are an excellent choice for your Scottish holiday.
