Begrum Cottage is one of three, one-bedroom cottages. At Burnbrae, guests can enjoy peace, quiet, comfort and space. Surrounded by agricultural land (no longer used as a working farm), my family and I live on-site and welcome the opportunity to help guests enjoy their holiday and get the most out of it.
Perfectly placed, Begrum Cottage is ideal for exploring the stunning Scottish Borders whether you want to do it by car, on foot or by bike. There is on-site secure bike, golf club and fishing tackle storage and a washing machine and tumble drier for the use of guests, along with a heated drying cupboard in each cottage.
Not only does Burnbrae offer some lovely short walks but it also offers longer walks for the more energetic starting directly from the cottage taking you out through stunning scenery. The surrounding area is also popular for its cycling with quiet lanes around Burnbrae to explore, along with tracks and trails through the hills for the more energetic, including the extensive cycling tracks and walking paths of the Glentress Forest (mountain bikes can be hired there). Horse riding is another popular pursuit in the Borders, as is golf (there are numerous courses near Burnbrae) and fishing. The Scottish Borders also offers lots of culture, history, historic houses and beautiful gardens to visit. For those who are happy to venture further afield, the Northumberland border is six miles and its National Park is twelve.
Begrum Cottage offers single-level accommodation which is accessed from the car park. The private, south-facing conservatory is located adjacent to the dining area of the spacious living room. The cottage has magnificent views across the secluded garden, Eden Water, the Tweed Valley to the Cheviot hills and the border between Scotland and England.
The cottage is ideal for two. With notice, a travel cot or single bed can be set up the bedroom or living room for additional guests. Begrum is generously equipped for up to four for self catering. Cars can approach close to the main entrance of each cottage for loading and unloading.
Independent reviews and online booking are accessible via the owners’ website.
