Foxlake is handy for adventurous souls, while water babies can go diving in the clear water of St Abbs Harbour. Golfers will know this region for the quality of its courses, including the superb courses at Roxburgh and Kelso, both of which offer expert tuition if you want to improve your handicap while you're away. Staying just a few miles from the border means that places like Bamburgh and Lindisfarne are also under an hour's drive.
