Bartlehill Cottage Licence No: SB00044F is a charming stone holiday cottage in the Scottish Borders between Kelso and Coldstream with panoramic views of the Cheviot Hills. The three-bedroom, two-bathroom property sleeps six people and is dog-friendly. Two of the bedrooms can either have twin or super-kingsize beds, so the flexible layout works well for families and friends. There is plenty to keep everyone happily occupied, including a games room with table football and table tennis, an outdoor tennis court and a cricket net. Bartlehill feels like a welcoming and familiar home-away-from-where you can relax and enjoy your holiday completely.
If you love walking, mountain biking and fishing, you'll love your stay at Bartlehill Cottage. It's only two miles from the River Tweed, with beautiful walks accessible from the door. The market town of Kelso is six miles west, with a fantastic array of places to eat, drink and shop. It's a good place for groceries, bicycle hire and fly fishing equipment if you need it. Five miles east of the cottage, Coldstream also has an excellent choice of amenities, lovely walks beside the River Tweed, and a specialist museum dedicated to the history of the famous Coldstream Guards.
Local attractions include Floors Castle, Abbotsford House, Melrose Abbey, and Alnwick Castle, so you're in a great place if you enjoy walking around stately homes and picturesque gardens. Foxlake is handy for adventurous souls, while water babies can go diving in the clear water of St Abbs Harbour. Golfers will know this region for the quality of its courses, including the superb courses at Roxburgh and Kelso, both of which offer expert tuition if you want to improve your handicap while you're away. Staying just a few miles from the border means that places like Bamburgh and Lindisfarne are also under an hour's drive.
Bartlehill Cottage is available for bookings all year round, with short breaks possible outside of peak season.
