About Quarry House

Quarry House is a gorgeous holiday home centrally located on a quiet residential street a few minutes from the centre of Bowness-on-Windermere. Guests of all ages love it for the fantastic location, beautiful furnishings, and flexible layout that works equally well for friends and families of all ages. Everything you could wish for your self-catering Lake District holiday is within walking distance, including shops, restaurants, and friendly pubs like The Albert. The Lake District has much to offer in every season, and all of it is accessible when you stay at Quarry House.

Bowness-on-Windermere is a pretty town beside one of the biggest lakes in England. It's famous for its excellent amenities and beautiful walks - you can set stride from the cottage to Orrest Head, Brant Fell, and Ambleside, to name a few favourite routes. Popular Lake District attractions in or close to Bowness include The World of Beatrix Potter, Holehird Gardens, Blackwell Arts and Crafts House, and the Windermere Ferry. Hire a boat, canoe or SUP, or jump on your bike and explore the lake's circumference. Attractions nearby include Hill Top, where Beatrix Potter brought her charming characters to life, Brockhole, the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway at Newby Bridge, The Lakes Aquarium, and the Lakeland Motor Museum. Literature lovers can visit Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Museum in Grasmere. At the same time, those with an adventurous spirit can tackle the Go Ape high ropes course or exhilarating mountain bike trails at Grizedale Forest.

You'll be impressed from the moment you step through the door of Quarry House. Accommodation in the townhouse is over three floors.

Ground Floor:

Double bedroom furnished with a comfortable bed, a Smart TV, wardrobe, and bedside tables with reading lights. It has an ensuite shower room with a WC and a handbasin.

First Floor:

Large bedroom with a king-sized bed and ample storage. Bedrooms are painted in soothing colours to help you sleep soundly, and beds feature quality white bed linen that makes the rooms feel fresh and welcoming.
A third bedroom has zip link beds that can be either one superking (6ft-wide) bed or two full-sized single beds. Please let the owner know your preferred layout when booking.

Second Floor:

Climb the stairs to the bright and spacious living/dining area with glass doors that open onto the balcony. Big sofas and a Smart TV with Amazon and Netflix encourage guests to put their feet up and relax after a busy day.
Flowing on from the living/dining room, the fitted kitchen is very well equipped for a self-catering holiday. You'll find all of the utensils and equipment necessary to cook and serve meals for six hungry people, including a Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine and a dishwasher.

Outside: The second-floor enclosed balcony is a great place to admire far-reaching views of the fells. The holiday home comes with a parking permit for one car.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are all provided when you book Quarry House. Pets and smoking are not permitted.

Also we have the added bonus of a private boathouse, with a bbq, sun loungers and paddle boards stored inside, a fabulous place to enjoy a picnic and take in the stunning surroundings. Booking is essential.
