Lingmell is in a very desirable location on the southern shore of Coniston Water in the Lake District National Park. Sleeping seven people in three bedrooms it's a fantastic conversion finished and furnished to make guests feel as if they've stepped into their second home. The layout is ideal for families, extended families, and friends with plenty of room to socialise while still allowing space and privacy when desired. Lingmell is part of a large estate with guests having shared use of six acres of grounds and direct access to Lake Bank Jetty.
If you want to immerse yourself in the beauty of the Lake District without sacrificing your comfort, this is the place for you. There are breathtaking walks and mountain bike routes accessible from the door, with favourite routes including Beacon Tarn and Beacon Fell for the panoramic views over Coniston Water and to Old Man of Coniston, one of the most iconic sights in the national park. Other local paths lead to Dow Crag, Greyfriar, Wetherlam and Swirl How. Although you're close to some of the Lake District's favourite sights and attractions, you'll benefit from being slightly off the well-trodden tourist trail. Boating, fishing, canoeing and open water swimming are accessible just over the road. The use of a Canadian canoe and four kayaks is included.
The village of Coniston is around five miles north of Lingmell, with various shops, cafes, pubs and a tourist information centre. Local attractions include the National Trust Steam Yacht Gondola, the Ruskin Museum and memorial to Donald Campbell, and the Coniston Brewery. More shops and amenities are available eight miles away in Ulverston, with alternatives in Ambleside, Hawkshead and Windermere. Windermere is half an hour's drive, as is the World of Beatrix Potter, with other places to visit, including Brockhole, Grizedale Forest, the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, Lakes Aquarium, and Wray Castle.

Outside: In addition to the use of six acres of grounds, guests have a private patio with seating. There is secure storage for bikes, SUPs and other sporting equipment and off-street parking for three cars.
Additional information: Bed linen, towels, utilities and WiFi are included. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. Smoking indoors is not permitted.
