Birchbank is a Lakeland sheep farm located on the fells between Duddon Estuary and Coniston Water. Here you can enjoy the spectacular views of Duddon Estuary or Coniston Old Man and the Furness fells from the many footpaths and bridleways on the surrounding fells with only birds and sheep for company.
This is an ideal location for walkers and birdwatchers where you can explore the Cumbria Way long distance footpath from Ulverston to Carlisle (just half a mile away) or the many other footpaths.
Conveniently located, Birchbank is positioned along an unfenced road, just two miles from the A5092 and gives easy access to the whole of the Lake District National Park and its many attractions.
Birchbank Cottage dates back to the early 17th Century and provides self catering accommodation for up to four guests in a character cottage in this undiscovered part of the Lake District.
There are plenty of things to see and do in the Lake District including: Coniston Water where you can try yachting, windsurfing and fishing; visit Brantwood, the former home of John Ruskin; have some fun at South Lakes Wild Animal Park at Dalton where you will see the tigers and giraffes; visit Windermere and take a leisurely trip on a Lake Steamer or visit the Aquarium at Lakeside, the World of Beatrix Potter at Bowness or one of several stately homes and much more.
There are too many attractions to mention in a spectacular area that provides something for all ages and energy levels at any time of the year.
