This secluded Victorian single storey cottage on the Ashley Combe Estate, the historic Exmoor home of computer pioneer Ada Lovelace, sits across a bridge next to a stream and is surrounded by woodland a mile from Porlock Weir. With an occupancy of 4 people, the cottage offers a cosy, home-from-home base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and for further afield visits to the Lake District. The accommodation comprises a lounge with a log burning stove, a kitchen/dining room with new fitted kitchen, downstairs WC, 1 kingsize bedroom,1 twin bedroom, bathroom with boost shower over bath, and a 2nd floor loft conversion which offers an additional lounge area and a sofabed if required. The loft conversion has a separate staircase accessed through the front bedroom. To the rear of the cottage is a paved, secure garden area with plants, shrubs and wooden seating. There is a very high stone wall to the rear and high panelling to the sides, so the garden is secure for children and dogs. There is parking for one car outside the cottage, with further spaces usually free along the road.

A beautiful spacious, part 12th, 15th and 18th century Grade II listed building of historical importance on the outskirts of the Kent village of Manston, just four miles from Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Margate on the Kent coastline. Ideal for groups of up to thirteen guests. However, if you also wanted to book the two cottage next to The Chapel which also form part of the secluded grounds of Manston Court, which both have one bedroom and a sofa bed, groups of up to 21 are able to stay comfortably for that special occasion. We have now added an outside electric socket in the garden of The Chapel, so that guests can hire a hot tub to make their stay even more memorable. We suggest Goodwins in Margate is a great place to hire out the hot tub. Currently the price for up to 1 weeks hire is £270 which includes warm water.
