About Stable Lodge

Stable Lodge is a Grade II listed barn conversion situated in the depths of beautiful countryside within Mid-Devon on a 273 acre family run farm. It is positioned at the entrance of Hele Barton Farm and benefits from its own enclosed garden which is perfect for relaxing in and with a tarmaced car parking area behind its own gate.. It is an ideal country retreat for families or couples looking to escape from the pressures of every day life.

Stable Lodge may be suitable for people with limited mobility as it has wide doorways, a wet room and a single bed can be placed downstairs should it be requested (please enquire with the owners for full details and to check suitability).

Centrally positioned, the holiday cottage is an ideal base for visiting the many attractions and places of interest this area has to offer. The landscape is incredibly varied where you can enjoy the dramatic landscape of Dartmoor to the rolling coombes of Exmoor, and the long sandy beaches of the rugged North coast to the quaint fishing villages and hidden coves of the South coast - there truly is something for everyone.

Country and outdoor pursuits are popular in this part of Devon with many outdoor activities in the area depending on your interests. In spring point-to-points can be experienced locally and in autumn there are local ploughing matches providing fun for the whole family. For those who enjoy walking, there are some bracing walks locally which will set you up well to sample the local food on offer in the local pubs.

Lambing will be in full swing from 15th March 2025 so plenty of lambs to see.

  • Entrance hall, leading off to an accessible toilet with 'wheel-in'/wetroom shower (includes a shower chair on wheels) with grab rails.
  • Kitchen/diner with modern fitted kitchen, washing machine, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, cooker/electric hob, and farmhouse style pine table with ample seating.
  • Sitting room with television, Freeview, DVD, comfy seating and patio doors taking you outside to the garden. WiFi

Upstairs

  • Two large family bedrooms both with en-suites. One has a double four poster bed plus single bed; the other with a double bed, plus single with guest bed beneath it.
  • Both en-suites have showers over the baths.

Additional information: Prices include oil, electricity, linen/towels, VAT & WiFi. The holiday cottage is centrally heated throughout. A cot, high chair and stair gate can be provided upon request. Sorry no pets allowed here.
