Speccott Barton provides a choice of six self catering holiday cottages that can accommodate parties of two to eleven guests individually, within the beautiful rolling hills of the unspoilt North Devon countryside. Just a twenty minute drive to the North Devon coastline with its wonderful beaches, this is an ideal location for anyone looking to explore the area along with its many attractions or simply relax in a peaceful setting.
The cottages are ideal for not only couples looking for a quiet retreat but also small and large families who want a place where children can play and enjoy themselves safely, with excellent facilities which can be used whatever the weather. These include an indoor swimming pool and tennis court.
Speccott Barton is available to rent throughout the whole year. Run by the family, the sheep farm is in an ideal location for those who enjoy walking with direct access to the Tarka Trail and a good number of footpaths which allow you to explore the area by foot. Alternatively, cycle the peaceful country lanes and take in the beautiful scenery.
Nestling in the middle of North Devon, the farm is an excellent base for exploring not only Devon but also some of Cornwall. The National Parks of Exmoor and Dartmoor are also within easy driving distance offering an abundance of attractions and outdoor activities. With the owners living on site to assist you should you need it, you can relax knowing that your holiday should run smoothly.

Speccott Barton offers six holiday cottages. Forge sleeps two guests; Stable sleeps two (plus two); Hayloft sleeps six; Coach House sleeps 8, Parlour sleeps 8 and The Farmhouse which is featured within this advert sleeps eleven guests.
The Farmhouse which was the family home was refurbished in 2023.
Ground floor
Front door leads you into a spacious hallway.To the left is a characterful sitting room with boxed beams and woodburner. On the right of the hall is a large dining room overlooking the gardens and leading to the kitchen .The kitchen is fully equipped with range style cooker (with extractor over), tall fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumbledryer. The back door taking you out to the pool area.
First floor
Five bedrooms which are configured as: a twin bedroom, Three doubles all ensuite shower rooms, and a three bedded room. A travel cot can be provided on request.
Family bathroom.with bath and shower
All cottages have access to the indoor heated swimming pool (open all year). It measures 26'x15' and is a continual depth of 4' - children under the age of sixteen must be accompanied in the pool area at all times. The pool is run on a rota system for each cottage.
There is a hard court tennis court in the old walled garden. Whether playing or observing you will you can not help but admire the beautiful scenery and views of Dartmoor.
Guests have the shared use of the lovely communal gardens with plenty of space including picnic areas with barbecues.
The farmhouse which sleeps 11 can be booked alongside other cottages is you require more accommodation.
