The Printers Mews is a stylish holiday cottage in an ideal location for a walking, cycling and sightseeing holiday in the Lakes. Set back from the road in the welcoming town of Milnthorpe where there is a small supermarket, shops, cafes and the excellent Bull's Head pub, the spacious holiday home sleeps six people in three bedrooms and is fantastic for families or friends. The Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is within walking distance, and the Lake District National Park and the Yorkshire Dales National Park are both within a short drive.
Milnthorpe has everything you'll need for a relaxed self-catering cottage holiday in Cumbria. It's off the Lake District tourist track, which can be highly well-trodden in some places - so it is pleasantly peaceful with no heavy traffic. The views are incredible, and you can see across the Kent Estuary towards the Lakeland Fells from the cottage. A stroll around town reveals a wealth of lovely buildings focused around a square where a weekly market has been held since 1334 and currently runs every Friday. Local attractions include Levens Hall and Lakeland Wildlife Oasis. You can walk or cycle to both places from the cottage and to the Heron Corn Mill in neighbouring Beetham.
The opportunities for walking are plentiful. Step outside the front door and follow the footpath through The Dallam Tower Estate Deer Park to Morecambe Bay, and there are miles of routes around the Arnside and Silverdale AONB. Kendal, Windermere and the southern lakes are less than 20 minutes drive from the cottage, providing easy access to this breathtaking landscape that attracts millions of holidaymakers every year. Kirkby Lonsdale and the Yorkshire Dales National Park are also around 20 minutes from The Printers Mews, as is the Forest of Bowland AONB. You can see why Milnthorpe is perfect for walkers and mountain bikers. You don't even need to drive to explore far and wide, as there are regular busses from Milnthorpe to Lancaster, Kendal, Windermere, Ambleside and Keswick.
The Printers Mews is available for bookings all year round, with short breaks possible depending on availability.
