Puffins Cottage is a traditional Cornish Cottage which is located in the popular village of Rock, and just 400 yards from a lovely sandy beach. The cottage is furnished to a high specification and offers all the facilities you will need for a comfortable and relaxing holiday.
Rock sits on the opposite side of the Camel Estuary to the bustling harbour town of Padstow with a great choice of excellent restaurants, shops, galleries and Rick Stein's famous Seafood School. The beautiful mile long sandy beach at Rock stretches alongside the estuary where, at low tide, you can stroll around to Daymer Bay, protected by sand dunes offering safe swimming and a lovely place to lay your towel and relax (you can also walk by road to the beach). The water at Daymer Bay is generally clear and calm, making it a popular place for a host of water sports including kayaking, fishing, sailing and even water skiing. The many sailing boats and luxury leisure cruisers that visit Rock's Sailing Club add to the charm and holiday vibe of the setting.
From Rock you can catch a foot ferry over the estuary to Padstow which runs regularly throughout the day, and by night, you can take a water taxi back once the ferry stops, if you want supper in one of Padstow's renowned restaurants. Rock has a village shop stocked with a superb selection of fine wines and cheeses and it also boasts Nathan Outlaw's Michelin starred restaurant - the Black Pig.
From Rock you can walk over the 18 hole links golf course to St Enodoc's delightful little 13th Century church with its crooked steeple (the resting place for the poet John Betjeman). Further up the coast lies the popular beach of Polzeath (great for surfing) and the now-famed fishing village of Port Isaac, well known for being the home to Doc Martin.
This area offers some of the most rugged and dramatic coastline in Cornwall and there are superb walks along the coastal path. In the opposite direction lies Padstow, Trevose Head and Newquay.

Outside: There is an enclosed terraced garden with outdoor furniture, perfect for enjoying alfresco meals in the sunshine. Off-road parking for three cars available or alternatively a car and small boat (please confirm sizes with the owner at the point of booking if bringing a boat).
Additional information: Well behaved dogs are accepted at an additional charge of £50 per pet, per week or short break stay. Bed linen, heating, electricity and towels included in the price but please bring beach towels. Strictly no smoking. Short breaks available out of peak season - please enquire.
