Weavers Cottage is a stylish blend of heritage features and contemporary luxuries. The Grade II listed cottage is only a five-minute walk from the centre of Thurlstone village where there is a village bakery and the award-winning Huntsman pub where you can enjoy a pint and a tasty meal if you don't feel like cooking. Four stylish and comfortable bedrooms can sleep up to eight guests, with a layout over three floors and extras like a games room and an outdoor hot tub. Families and friends of all ages have everything they need for a relaxing holiday in every season, enjoying luxurious touches and features like a games room and an outdoor hot tub.
Thurlstone is in the Pennines and only a few miles from the Peak District National Park. It's a fantastic holiday destination for anyone who enjoys beautiful scenery. You don't have to be an outdoors enthusiast to appreciate a stroll beside a river or through woodland and meadows. The famous Trans Pennine Trail is only a few hundred yards from the cottage and can be used by walkers and cyclists. The mainly traffic-free route is a haven for birds and wildlife, so take your binoculars if you're walking. Guests who relish a challenge can walk from the cottage to the viewing point at the peak of Royd Moor, enjoying stunning views towards the Peak District.
The pretty market town of Penistone is less than two miles from the cottage, and easy to walk or cycle if you want to leave the car behind. This historic town is listed in the Domesday Book and has a busy market every Thursday and Saturday where you can buy fresh local meats, cheese, fruit, veg and cakes. There's a good variety of places to eat, drink and shop, and a fantastic heritage cinema that has been part of the community since 1914. An alternative to Penistone for shopping is Holmfirth, about 20 minutes north of the cottage. The picturesque town was used to film "Last of the Summer Wine" and fans can treat themselves to a cup of tea and some cake at Sid's Cafe.
Local attractions include Cannon Hall Farm, which always has something to delight the kids. Slightly further afield, but still within reach for a day trip at 30 miles from the cottage, is the magnificent Chatsworth House with its world-class art and furniture collection, parkland landscaped by Capability Brown, and farmyard. Manchester is also about 30 miles away, while Leeds, Huddersfield and Sheffield are all even closer.
Weaver's Cottage is next door to Leapings Cottage, and the two can be booked together to sleep extended families or groups of up to 20 friends. Please see the owner's website for details.
