Leapings Cottage perfectly blends heritage character with stylish modern conveniences to provide a luxury holiday retreat for twelve guests in six en-suite bedrooms. Within easy walking distance of Thurlstone village, Leapings Cottage has a bakery and a very good pub for a meal out or pint within five minutes stroll. With a games room and hot tub, this fabulous holiday home is an excellent choice for large or extended families or friends who want to catch-up, celebrate a milestone event or holiday together in comfort and style.
Thurlstone is in the Pennines and only a few miles from the Peak District. It's a fantastic holiday destination for anyone who enjoys beautiful scenery. You don't have to be an outdoors enthusiast to appreciate a stroll beside a river or through woodland and meadows. The famous Trans Pennine Trail is only a few hundred yards from the cottage and can be used by walkers and cyclists. The mainly traffic-free route is a haven for birds and wildlife, so take your binoculars if you're walking. Guests who relish a challenge can walk from Leapings Cottage to the viewing point at the peak of Royd Moor, enjoying stunning views towards the Peak District.
Walk, cycle or drive to the nearby market town of Penistone which is listed in the Domesday Book. It is only two miles away and has a good range of shops, cafes and pubs as well as a bustling twice weekly market on a Thursday and Saturday where you can stock up on local produce. Holmfirth, the filmset for the popular TV programme 'Last of the Summer Wine' is also nearby and twenty minutes by car offering yet more choice for amenities and the chance to have a proper cuppa in Sid's Cafe.
Other local attractions include Cannon Hall Farm, which is sure to be a hit with the little ones, or slightly further afield, Chatsworth House with its world-class art and furniture collection, parkland landscaped by Capability Brown, and farmyard. Manchester, Leeds, Huddersfield and Sheffield are also within driving distance.
Leapings Cottage is next to Weavers Cottage and the two can be booked together to accommodate large groups of up to 20 guests. Please see the owner's website for details.
