Unsliven Bridge Farm is an attractive period property on the edge of the Peak District National Park and within walking distance of the Underbank Reservoir, the village shop and Y Olde Mustard Pot pub (with Langsett Wagon and Horses also close by). It is on the outskirts of Stocksbridge and started life as a farmhouse in the 1600s before being converted into a spacious holiday home that sleeps up to 15 people in seven beautiful bedrooms. Guests can enjoy gorgeous rural views, luxurious touches like underfloor heating and an outdoor hot tub and extensive grounds which are a haven for wildlife with an enclosed garden with outdoor furniture and BBQ as well as a meadow with picnic tables where you can sit beside the river. It's a fantastic place for fun and relaxing holidays with your extended family and friends.
Stockbridge is perfect for a holiday at any time of the year. Only two miles from the Peak District National Park and 10 miles north of Sheffield, it has a friendly community that is well-supported by amenities that include a shopping centre, and there's a thriving food market every Sunday on Saunders Street. Stockbridge is part of the Pennines, and the surrounding area is a favourite with walkers and cyclists not only for the beautiful views but for the routes that range from gentle to challenging. A favourite local footpath is the Stockbridge Circuit which passes the Wharncliffe Crags, Wind Hill and Whitewell Moor, and which takes in part of the Trans Pennine Trail. A shorter, three-mile, loop goes from the Stockbridge Leisure Centre to a trig point where guests can enjoy panoramic views. Other local footpaths lead to the Isle of Skye Quarry and Tin Mill Ponds, while the Stocksbridge Heritage Trail introduces visitors to the area's importance in the steel industry. There is a footpath for everyone regardless of their ability or the amount of time they have to spend outdoors.
Four miles away, the historic town of Penistone is noted in the Domesday Book and has an excellent variety of places to eat, drink and shop. The Trans Pennine Trail passes through the town, and it's a great place to stop and refuel if you are walking and cycling along its route. A 10-minute drive from Unsliven Bridge Farm, the picturesque village of Holmfirth served as the setting for many episodes of "Last of the Summer Wine" and still attracts fans who visit Sid's Cafe and take the Summer Wine Magic Tour. Another favourite nearby attraction is the award-winning Cannon Hall Farm where goats, donkeys, cows, and shire horses are just a few of the many animals that win over visitors with their cuteness.
Unsliven Bridge Farm is next to a converted barn which can sleep up to seven people in three bedrooms. The two properties can be booked together to increase potential accommodation to up to 22 people. Please see the owner's website for details.
