Hop on the foot ferry at Lake Bank (a short car trip from the barn ) and visit Coniston village and tackle the Old Man if you have the energy! Explore the area by bike on one of the offroad cycle routes that are near the barn or seek thrills in Grizedale Forest with its tracks and trails for mountain bikers and tree-top adventures at Go Ape. Alternatively for something a little more sedate, enjoy a round of golf at one of the country's most scenic courses in Bowness-on-Windermere or visit the homes of Beatrix Potter, John Ruskin and William Wordsworth and discover the beauty that provided so much inspiration for their works.
