Rutter Falls Holiday Cottages are in a truly magnificent location, nestling at the foot of a picturesque waterfall (wild swimming available in the deep pool below) within the beautiful Eden Valley in Cumbria. Located close to the Lake District, these two welcoming holiday cottages are presented to a high standard and provide a perfect self-catering getaway at any time of the year.
The site that The Watermill and Ford Cottage sit on is of historical interest and dates back as far as the 16th Century. Set in its own secluded valley, the location is the perfect place to relax and unwind whilst watching deer, red squirrels, dippers, heron, kingfishers, gold crest and many more. You may even see spawning salmon at the right time of year! An exciting newcomer is the elusive otter.
The Eden Valley is one of Cumbria's best kept secrets with its beautiful lush meadows and rolling fields, edged with hedgerows and dry stone walls, giving a sense of wide open space. With lovely quiet roads, this area offers superb cycling, as well as walking opportunities with tracks and trails allowing you to explore the fells and countryside that surrounds.
Close by are the market towns of Kirkby Stephen and Appleby with ancient buildings home to independent shops offering antiques, crafts and local produce. Within easy reach you also have the Northern Lakes along with North Cumbria, Hadrian's Wall, the beautiful Pennines and the Scottish Borders a little further afield providing great days out.
If you are a keen walker, wildlife photographer, cold water swimmer, or are simply looking for a magical setting to escape and relax, Rutter Falls Holiday Cottages are a the perfect choice.
