The Old Bakery is a bright holiday rental in Fowey, a short walk from the harbour with fantastic river views. The first-floor apartment sleeps four people in two bedrooms and is perfect for couples or families who want a welcoming holiday home where they can feel settled as soon as they arrive. Shops, bakeries, cafes and friendly pubs and restaurants like the waterfront Galleon Inn, The Quay House and Fitzroy's are all within walking distance, making the apartment not only comfortable but wonderfully convenient for a self-catering holiday.
Fowey is a charming town with narrow cobbled lanes that wind their way down to the harbour, where colourful boats move busily through the water. You're never far from the water, whether it's the river or on beautiful beaches. Book a sightseeing tour or hire a boat and head up the river at your own pace. Kayaking and sailing are fantastic alternatives, and there's nothing like an early morning SUP session to set you up for the best day ever. Fowey also has an aquarium and a sailing school.
The coast around Fowey has some of the finest views in England. Follow the South West Coast Path and cross the river to Polruan or head west via Readymoney Cove and St Catherine's Castle and walk towards Gribbin Head. The Hall walk is another particular favourite circular walk with a pub at the end for a 'sundowner' before you hop on the ferry back to Fowey. The Fowey Estuary is a richly diverse region for birds, wildlife and plants, so take your binoculars to see it in detail.
Polkerris and Golant are a 10-minute drive from the apartment, while the Eden Project is approximately half an hour. Hangloose Adventure, boasting the fastest and longest zip wire in England, is a must for any adrenaline junkie, while those with more sedate tastes will enjoy the beauty of Hidden Valley Gardens in Treesmill. Pack a picnic to enjoy against the backdrop of the Treffey Viaduct or Restormel Castle, visit the St Austell Brewery, or pick up a few plants at the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery. Although Fowey is on the south coast of Cornwall, it's still only 45-minutes from Newquay, Polzeath and other famous beaches on the north coast.
The Old Bakery is available for bookings all year round. Depending on availability, short breaks are possible outside of peak season.

The Old Bakery is on the first floor of what was one of Cornwall's iconic Nile's Bakery branches. (Thankfully, there's still a Nile's in Fowey, now in Fore Street). It has been beautifully renovated to make the most of the location and the views. Accommodation is all on one level.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are all included. Guests to bring beach towels if they are required. Short breaks are possible, depending on availability. Smoking is not permitted.
