About Molly Cottage

Beautifully renovated to an exceptional standard with attention to every detail and managed and serviced entirely by the owners Carole and David for an unrivalled experience. Molly Cottage, with its roaring log burner and sunny garden is the perfect base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and The Lakes. Tucked away in the quaint village of Ingleton with parking outside and full central heating, the cottage was built in the 18th century, is full of charm and character and offers contemporary yet cosy accommodation for up to four people. Decorated and appointed to a high standard, the stylish eclectic mix of furniture will make your stay a delight.

A few minutes walk will find you in the centre of the village and it’s amenities with its famed Yorkshire hospitality. Ingleton boasts several friendly pubs and restaurants, a quirky micro bar, cosy cafes, gift shops, grocers, an award winning artisan bakery and a fabulous fish and chip shop at the end of the famous Waterfalls Walk. The lovely market towns of Kirkby Lonsdale, Settle and Hawes are but a short drive away.

Walking is one of the most popular pastimes in the region, and there are a wealth of footpaths to explore. Start with the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail just a few minutes walk from Molly Cottage. The four and a half mile path wanders through several spectacular waterfalls including Thornton Force. Experienced walkers will enjoy the challenge provided by the Yorkshire Three Peaks Walk, which scales the three highest mountains in Yorkshire: Ingleborough, the path to which starts a short walk from the cottage, Pen-y-Ghent and Whernside.

If you prefer the saddle we have a lockable shed so feel free to bring your bikes and enjoy the countryside by road or on the mountain bike trails like the Settle Loop or the Tour of Ingleborough. If you like to experience the country side from a golf course we have the courses of Bentham and Kirkby Lonsdale close by. The owner is both a cyclist and golfer and happy to advise.

The landscape of The Yorkshire Dales is spectacular, with craggy peaks, lush valleys and rolling moorland. A visit to the famous Malham tarn with its limestone pavement and Janet’s Foss is not to be missed.. The beauty is not restricted to the surface either, as this part of Britain has some of the best caves in the country including White Scar Caves and Ingleborough Caves.

With its breathtaking scenery, pretty villages and friendly locals, The Yorkshire Dales is the perfect holiday destination.

The owners regularly stay at Molly Cottage and have made sure that the kitchen includes everything you need for easy self-catering. They also provide tea, coffee and milk so that you can switch the kettle on and enjoy a hot drink as soon as you arrive.
  • Shower room with a large walk-in shower, heated towel rail, WC and handbasin. Luxurious Egyptian cotton bath towels are provided for guests to use during their stay.

Both beds have hypoallergenic bedding and are made up with top quality cotton sheets.
