About The Treehouse

The Treehouse is every child's - even your inner one - dream holiday brought to life. Where else can you sleep under a leafy canopy in 5-Star luxury, surrounded by the peaceful Somerset countryside? The Treehouse is one of five outstanding self-catering properties at Lavender Hill Holidays and is close to both the Exmoor National Park and the Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Beautiful beaches are only a short drive away, while the welcoming New Inn pub in Halse village is a relaxed five-minute stroll from the door. With space for four people to sleep in two bedrooms, it is ideal for couples and families who appreciate a touch of adventure.

You don't have to compromise on anything when you stay at Lavender Hill because not only is The Treehouse constructed and furnished to the highest standard, but the location is fantastic. The countryside and national park provide miles of beautiful walks and cycling routes, while the beaches of Somerset and North Devon offer the opportunity to relax in the sand, swim, surf or walk around the coast and take in the breathtaking views at your leisure. Golf, fishing and horse riding are three more popular ways to enjoy this stunning landscape, and with local attractions including sites like Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, the West Somerset Railway and Dunster Castle, there is no end to the fun you can have.

Somerset's lush countryside is more than beautiful, it is rich and fertile, producing delicious local produce that includes pork, cider and cheese. It is easy to eat well when you stay at The Treehouse whether you buy sausages from a nearby farm shop or farmer's market to barbecue on the deck, pack a picnic to enjoy on a hilltop or treat yourself to a meal at one of the area's many fantastic pubs and restaurants.

Despite its sense of space and peace, The Treehouse is conveniently accessible from the M5 and the A303, making it simple to explore far and wide, including Bristol and Taunton. Your holiday can include something for everyone with a day spent lazing on the beach following the next with an Exmoor safari or browsing the goods and speaking with stallholders at a weekly market and enjoying some of the best food in Britain.

The Treehouse can be booked on its own or together with one or more of the other wonderful self-catering properties at Lavender Hill Holidays to accommodate extended families or groups of friends. You can find out more by clicking through to the owner's website.

Location (Somerset)

Accommodation Comprises:

The Treehouse was designed and constructed using lots of natural materials to sit perfectly in its setting, providing accommodation over two levels. It has impressive eco-friendly credentials luxurious touches that elevate it to a 5-Star standard.

Downstairs:

  • Access is via a deck and external stairs to the elevated "ground" floor.
  • Open plan living/dining room and kitchen with wooden floorboards and neutral colours that do not detract from the lovely views of fields and countryside from the windows.
  • Leather sofas and a wood-burning stove offer the perfect place to flop down and relax at the end of a busy, fun-filled day. There is a TV with a DVD player and the Treehouse also has WiFi and underfloor heating.
  • Cupboards and bench space have been fitted to the kitchen's quirky shape, making the most of every inch of space and providing a well-equipped place to cook.
  • A spiral staircase rises from the centre of the room, mimicking a tree trunk, to give access to the master bedroom upstairs.
  • A bunk room with two single bunks is off the main living room. Dual aspect windows overlook the trees and garden, and there are blackout blinds on both windows to ensure the children don't wake up too early.
  • A family bathroom has a rolltop bath with a handheld shower attachment, WC and handbasin.

Upstairs:

  • The treetop's octagonal shape and cleverly designed roof give the impression that the occupants of the master bedroom are sleeping in a tent. The entire first floor is a luxurious bedroom with a super-kingsized (6ft-wide) bed, ample storage and a day bed tucked away under a triangular window to offer the perfect spot to relax with a good book. There is also a day-bed for an additional child in the 'pod' area.

Outside: The Treehouse has an enclosed private garden with private wooden play area, wooden deck with a picnic bench and an outdoor cedar hot tub. Guests also have two private sessions per day in the indoor heated swimming pool, and there is off-street parking close by.

Additional Information: All utilities, sheets and towels are included. Short breaks are possible depending on availability. Smoking and pets are not permitted.
