Cherry Tree Farmhouse is a delight. The Grade II listed farmhouse, which was built in around 1600, has been sympathetically updated to retain its original welcoming character while offering 5-Star Gold accommodation. There is plenty of room for up to 10 people to sleep in five bedrooms, with space for one or two extra little ones, making it ideal for large or extended families or a group of friends on holiday together. The house is close to the Exmoor National Park and the Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and within walking distance (five-minutes!) of Halse village and the New Inn pub.
Somerset is the perfect spot for a relaxing family holiday. Whatever age your children are, they are never too old for the delights of a day at the beach. Younger ones will love poking around the rock pools and building castles in the sand, while older ones can learn to surf or paddleboard, satisfying their hard-earned appetite with steaming hot chips or ice cream made in a local dairy (or both!) The West Somerset Coast Path and South West Coast Footpath both provide a way to enjoy the beauty of the beaches for visitors who want to stay on dry land, and there are miles of cycling routes to make it easier to get from one breathtaking view to the next.
As well as limitless opportunities to ramble or mountain bike their way around the coast and countryside, visitors can play golf, ride a horse or take a 4WD safari across Exmoor. There is no need to limit yourself to ground level when you can take to the skies in a hot air balloon or go deep underground at places like Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge. Other local attractions include Dunster Castle, the West Somerset Railway, Haynes International Motor Museum (be sure to check their event calendar to see what's on before you go, as they regularly have extra demonstrations and displays), and Crealy Adventure Park. Bristol is also within easy reach both by car and rail, adding the potential for a city day into your seaside and country break.
Organising a holiday for a group of people - even if it's your family or closest friends - can be stressful. The luxurious accommodation at Cherry Tree Farmhouse coupled with a peaceful location close to beaches, market towns and other attractions, will ensure that you can relax from the moment your car rolls up until you leave.
