The Apple Tree House is less child's den and more 5-Star Gold adult's hideaway. Elevated to sit under the leaves of two mature lime trees, this luxurious three-bedroom, two-bathroom beauty easily sleeps up to six people with a flexible layout that makes it ideal for families or friends of any age. There is also space for a baby and toddler, and since a well-behaved dog is welcome, the whole family can enjoy a fantastic self-catering holiday close to Exmoor National Park and within walking distance of the New Inn pub in Halse village.
Halse is a wonderful place to start your exploration of Somerset. The pretty village is in a conservation area so retains a peaceful charm, yet its location just a few miles from the M5 means it is easy to reach so you know that once you get off the motorway, you are nearly there. As well as a friendly pub and welcoming community, Halse has the benefit of being just a few miles from the historic market town of Taunton where there are lots of local businesses selling fantastic regional produce as well as independent boutiques and places to eat and drink.
Somerset's beautiful landscape offers something in every season. Wind your way along country lanes lined by hedgerows bursting with life, swim at the beach, stroll along heather-covered moors or mountain bike through exciting trails around the nearby Quantock Hills or Blackdown Hills, both of which are designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The Exmoor National Park is only a few miles from The Apple Tree House, while the Somerset Coastal Footpath and the South West Coast Path provide spectacular views of the Somerset and North Devon coastline. Energetic visitors can surf, swim, paddleboard, go coasteering, climb, cave or ramble their way around the county. More relaxed visitors may prefer to see the sights on horseback, from a golf course, or via the many excellent country pubs in the area.
Attractions close to The Apple Tree House include the West Somerset Railway, Cheddar Gorge and Caves, Wookey Hole, Tropiquaria, and the Haynes National Motor Museum. Bristol is also within reach, offering lots in the way of shopping, museums, restaurants and history.
The Apple Tree House is one of five superb properties on the Lavender Hill Holidays estate. It enjoys its own private fenced garden and hot tub and can be booked individually or together with one or more of the other properties to accommodate extended families or groups of friends.
