St Annes Cottage sleeps four guests and is a highly desirable country cottage providing a tranquil retreat for couples (one or two) and families, right in the heart of the picturesque Langdale Valley. Weekly bookings available all year round.
The cottage has been in the family for almost one hundred years when it was lovingly built by family members who were Arts and Crafts enthusiasts. Their passion and skills shine through the cottage which is much loved by family members who stay, and guests who return time and time again to enjoy this beautiful tranquil oasis, nestling amidst glorious Lake District scenery.
With stunning uninterrupted views over the Langdale Pikes, the setting is just perfect for those who want peace and tranquility, as well as walkers with fabulous walks through the Langdale Valley straight from the front door.
St Annes Cottage is pet and child friendly and sits within the owners extensive grounds of some three acres including plenty of plants and flowers for colour, wooded areas, ponds and streams - a real haven for wildlife with plenty of space to relax and unwind. Children can play, dogs can safely roam (the grounds are enclosed) and guests can enjoy privacy without being overlooked by the main house (safe in the knowledge that the owner is close by should you need any assistance).
The pretty Cumbrian hamlet of Chapel Stile is only half a mile walk away and offers a good village shop for provisions and the Wainwright's inn, an excellent traditional pub serving good ale and hearty Cumbrian fare. There is also a luxury hotel (the Langdale Hotel) with restaurant, bar and spa (including sauna, pool and gym) for some holiday pampering!
For those who can tear themselves away from the oasis of calm that surrounds the cottage, Ambleside (fifteen minutes by car) and Grasmere are within easy reach. England's highest peak (Scafell Pike) is also within driving distance (for those up for the challenge!), as is Lake Windermere, Kendal, Coniston Water, Hawkshead and the Grizedale Forest to name just a few of the wider areas many attractions.
Alternatively, stay put and enjoy the peace, tranquility and stunning scenery on the doorstep of St Annes Cottage.
