Salem is a charming period holiday cottage sleeping four people in two bedrooms on the Isle of Anglesey. The holiday home is rural but not inconveniently so, being in Mynydd Bodafon, three miles from Moelfre with wonderful walks from the door. It's packed full of wonderful features, including local slate floors and Welsh timber. The nearest pub is the Pilot Boat, around a mile and a half - a great distance for working up a thirst! Salem is ideal for families and couples and available for bookings all year round.
Mynydd Bodafon is not only the name of the hamlet where you'll stay, but it is also the name of a favourite walking destination. Mynydd means "mountain" in Welsh, but Mynydd Bodafon is a series of peaks affording spectacular panoramic views of Anglesey and Snowdonia. Anglesey's beaches are as good as any you'll find anywhere in the world. The closest beach is Lligwy, around two and a half miles away, with other local beaches, including Benllech and Moelfre. Anglesey is small enough that everywhere is convenient, and you can easily reach beaches like Rhosneigr, Llanddwyn, Aberffaw Bay, Traeth yr Ora, and Lligwy.
Moelfre is the nearest place to buy supplies for your holiday. It's a pretty coastal village with a choice of places to eat, drink and shop. You might be lucky enough to spot dolphins and porpoises swimming off the coast of Moelfre when you're fishing, canoeing, kayaking, sailing or kite surfing. Cycling is another popular way to enjoy the scenery, as is walking one of the many way-marked footpaths around Moelfre, Lligwy and Dulas.
Local Anglesey attractions include Beaumaris Castle, which is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Anglesey Transport Museum, Anglesey Sea Zoo, Copper Kingdom, and the Anglesey Model Village. Take a boat trip to Puffin Island or cross the Menai Strait to the Welsh Mainland and Snowdonia National Park. In 40 minutes or less, you can reach Zip World in Penrhyn Quarry, the Snowdon Mountain Railway, Conwy Castle, Surf Snowdonia, and Caernarfon Castle. The problem won't be finding something to keep everyone happy but trying to do everything you want in the time you have. It's no wonder so many people who stay at Salem are repeat visitors.
