Anglesey is well known for its stunning coastline and great selection of holiday accommodation and activities located next to the sea. The wide sandy beaches at Benllech and Treardur Bay are perfect for family friendly days on the beach. The clear waters and golden sands make them perfect for swimming, paddling and for a range of watersports such as kayaking, windsurfing, paddleboarding, and sailing.

The seaside town of Beaumaris with its mix of medieval, Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian architecture, is enchanting in all seasons. Beaumaris Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is definitely worth a visit. You can see for miles as you walk around the top of the castle walls, and there is also a moat and maze of rooms below to explore. Beaumaris Gaol and Courthouse are also well worth a visit if you are interested in exploring the towns history. You can also enjoy a stroll along the seafront and pier, take a boat trip around Puffin Island and visit the lifeboat station. Just a short drive away, at the easternmost tip of Anglesey, is Penmon Point with it’s iconic lighthouse and great views of Puffin Island.

The western coast of Anglesey offers fantastic surfing opportunities with Rhosneigr being the main watersports hub on the island. You can find surfboard hire as well as lessons for surfing and paddleboarding here. Or simply watch the kite surfers dance in the waves as you drink a hot chocolate on a windy day! No trip to Anglesey would be complete without a trip to Newborough beach and forest. The mix of sand dunes, coniferous forest, large sandy beach and the romantic tidal island of Ynys Llanddwyn makes it a great day out in all seasons. For those of you who would like to swap your flip flops for walking boots, the Anglesey Coastal path covers 125 miles and circumnavigates the island offering stunning views as it passes through historic fishing villages, small scenic coves and dramatic seascapes and attractions such as South Stack Lighthouse.

Whether you are looking to stay in a cosy cottage for two or rent a luxury coastal retreat for family and friends our fantastic selection of Anglesey cottages to rent by the sea has something to suit everyone.
