Wharfedale View is a two-bedroom holiday cottage between Grassington and Kettlewell in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, with panoramic views of the Wharfedale Valley. It sleeps four people and is ideal for couples or families, especially those who enjoy walking, cycling and other outdoor activities. The location on the outskirts of Kilnsey and within easy reach of Skipton is perfect for a relaxing holiday in any season. Whether you're visiting for the landscape, history or fantastic food for which this region is renowned, Wharfedale View is a welcoming home-away-from-home from which to enjoy it all.
You can walk out the door and start exploring straight away. Footpaths lead through fields and farmland to the River Wharf and south to Grassington, four miles away, or three miles north to Kettlewell. Arncliffe, Malham and the Dales Way are also within walking distance, and you can walk beside the river to Hawswick and Burnsall. Many visitors start their stay with a walk through Grass Woods, while others head straight for Aysgarth Falls, Bolton Abbey, How Stean Gorge, and Brimham Rocks. The road near Wharfedale View was part of the 2014 Tour de France. Road cyclists will discover that Yorkshire lives up to its reputation for superb, if challenging, cycling. Mountain bikers also have a wide choice of routes to suit their style and ability. There is a bike cleaning area and secure storage, with bicycle and E-Bike hire available locally. The cottage is a mere 200 metres away from your new favourite fishing spot beside the Rivers Wharfe or Skirfare. There's a golf course and a driving range 10 minutes away in Skipton and pony trekking through stables a short walk from the cottage.
Local attractions include Percival Hall and Gardens, Ripon Cathedral, and the Embsay Steam Railway. The Worth Valley Railway and Howarth Bronte Trail are under an hour's drive. Skipton is conveniently close for you to shop and sightsee. Walk around the medieval Skipton Castle, meander beside the Leeds to Liverpool Canal, learn about the town's history along the self-guided Millennium Walk, and shop at the award-winning market on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. As is typical of many rural communities, there is a full calendar of annual events that highlight local music, food, and talent.
Wharfedale View is family and dog friendly and available for bookings all year round.
