Wharfedale Lodge offers a unique opportunity for groups searching for a large self-catering property in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales for a midweek stay. The converted field barn sleeps 4-20 people in 8 twin bedrooms and one 2 bunkbed family room over three floors and is perfect for large families, groups of friends, colleagues or guests at a retreat who want space and privacy but who do not want to compromise on comfort for the perfect location.
The property is in a fantastic spot surrounded by fields and farmland, and the unspoiled beauty of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. From the front door you can access footpaths that wind their way through pastures and wildflower meadows, along rivers and past waterfalls, and to charming towns and villages like Grassington and Kettlewell, both of which are only a few miles away. Grassington is a friendly village with lovely stone buildings housing independent shops, pubs cafes and restaurants. The community loves to celebrate and there is often something fun happening from fetes to farmer’s markets. Kettlewell is smaller than Grassington but has a similar vibe, with pubs, cafes and shops.
Skipton is a fantastic market town on the bank of the Eller Beck. Nicknamed the “gateway to the Yorkshire Dales,” it offers a wealth of sights and activities. The medieval castle is one of the best preserved in England and is surrounded by beautiful woodland walks. The Leeds to Liverpool Canal passes through Skipton on its 127-mile route, and you can take a pleasure cruise along what was once a busy industrial thoroughfare. Alternatively, take the waymarked Millennium Walk through the town, discovering its history along the way. The award-winning market runs every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and the town has a wide variety of shops and boutiques that will satisfy your urge to splurge, seven days a week.
Whatever your current fitness level, you can find a footpath, bridleway, bike trail or golf course to suit your ability and the time you have available. There are footpaths from the front door leading to Grassington, Arncliffe, Malham and Kettlewell, as well as a route that links up with the long-distance Dales Way route. Wharfedale Lodge has secure indoor bike storage so bring your road or mountain bike and enjoy the trails that make this region a favourite with cyclists of both disciplines. There is excellent fishing on the Skirfare and Wharfe Rivers which are only 200 yards from the property, or why not spend your time outdoors on horseback or the golf course (though not at the same time!).
The owners of Wharfedale Lodge understand that arranging a break for a large group can be difficult so they have done all they can to ensure you and your group have a wonderful time in the Yorkshire Dales.

Wharfedale Lodge is a converted field barn with high ceilings and lots of natural light. Accommodation is spread out over three floors.
Outside: Outdoor space is plentiful with well-maintained grounds featuring seating areas for reading or chatting, and open areas for games and playing. The nearby fields are home to lambs in spring, while rabbits, pheasants and other birds can usually be spotted. There is off-road parking for up to 12 cars in the grounds.
Additional Information: Wharfedale Lodge is available for mid-week breaks (minimum two nights). Utilities are included, and guests can either bring or hire sheets and towels for the duration of their stay. Pets and smoking are not permitted in the house or the grounds.
