Fellside Cottage sleeps up to five guests (with space for one additional guest on a folding pull-out bed). It is located in Appletreewick, one of the most picturesque villages in the Yorkshire Dales. Perfectly positioned between the charming Wharfedale village of Grassington and the vibrant market town of Skipton—often referred to as the “Gateway to the Dales”—the cottage provides an ideal base for exploring this beautiful region.
As quaint as its name suggests, Appletreewick is steeped in history and surrounded by some of the finest landscapes in the Yorkshire Dales. The village features two award-winning traditional pubs, both serving food and local ales.
The area offers an abundance of walking and cycling routes from the doorstep, along with easy access to the River Wharfe. Popular nearby walks include the Dales Way, which follows the river, as well as the Valley of Desolation, Simon’s Seat (known for its stunning views), the limestone gorge of Troller’s Gill, and Strid Wood at Bolton Abbey.
There is plenty to see and do for all ages, including visits to Bolton Abbey, National Trust houses and gardens, Skipton Castle, Malham Cove and the charming villages of Burnsall and Grassington. Activities such as horse riding, golf, fishing, and wild swimming in the river are all nearby, or you can simply relax and enjoy feeding the ducks.
This delightful stone cottage is set well back from the road and benefits from large gardens to both the front and rear. Its elevated position allows the south-facing conservatory to offer exceptional views over the surrounding countryside.
