The Old Forge is a Yorkshire cottage were you can breathe out and happily relax, surrounded by your family or friends. The house is in a quiet village and the owners have created traditional country charm together with the high standard of comfort that modern guests desire. There is space for up to eight people to sleep in four lovely bedrooms, with the potential to rent it at a discount as a two or three-bedroom property outside of the peak season.
West Lutton is a typical Yorkshire village with plenty of character. Its location in The Yorkshire Wolds, close to The Wolds Way is perfect for visitors who want to explore far and wide. Not only is it just 11 miles from the market town of Malton, but Pickering and both the North York Moors National Park and the beautiful beaches of the Yorkshire coast are within an easy 30-minute drive. The Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Dalby Forest are also close. Visitors have excellent access to an abundance of footpaths, mountain bike trails and bridleways in every season.
Family-friendly local attractions include Go Ape in Dalby Forest, Flamingoland Theme Park and Zoo, and the Playdale Farm Park. Wolds Way Lavender farm is a feast for the senses with rows of fragrant lavender stretching out from the distillery, shop and playground. Spend a day shopping and sightseeing in the ancient city of York, or scare yourself on a ghost tour of Whitby, whose ruined Abbey inspired Bram Stoker's setting for the classic Gothic novel, Dracula.
Yorkshire boasts some of the nation's most impressive country houses and estates. National Trust sites to visit nearby are Beningbrough Hall and Gardens, Nunnington Hall, and Treasurer's House, with other grand estates including Castle Howard, Sledmere House, and Burton Agnes Hall. The region has a diverse array of museums such as the Beck Isle Museum of Rural Life, the Jorvik Viking Centre, and the World of James Herriott. There is something for everyone, no matter what their interest.

The Old Forge was built using materials taken from the original building and constructed by local craftsmen using traditional techniques. Accommodation is all on ground floor level and includes:

Outside: The cottage has a gravel driveway with parking for three cars, and a private garden with a picnic bench where guest can eat outdoors. The garden overlooks the church so there are no issues with noisy neighbours!
Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, sheets and towels are provided. Short breaks are possible outside of peak season and the owner offers discounted stays to guests using only two or three bedrooms. Smoking and pets are not permitted.
