About The Granary

Church Farm is home to four charming 4 Star Gold and 5 Star holiday cottages. Whether you are simply looking to relax in a tranquil setting or want an activity based holiday, Church Farm is an excellent choice and a good base for discovering the beauty and abundance of attractions of the Yorkshire Wolds. A diverse landscape with glorious coast, countryside, historic towns and immense culture, the region has wide appeal for all ages and tastes.

Located in the village of Garton on the Wolds, the cottages are within easy driving distance of numerous attractions and places of interest including country houses and gardens, galleries, museums, ancient market towns, historic cities and of course Yorkshire's spectacular coastline.

Driffield is a market town just three miles away with a good range of shops to browse. The historic town of Beverley is fourteen miles away, with its splendid 13th Century Minster and racecourse on the famous Westwood pastures.

The historic City of York approximately 25 miles from the village is very popular with tourists and a must for anyone visiting the area. Here you can wander the narrow streets around The Shambles, take in the sights from the River Ouse by boat or a city tour bus, visit Betty's renowned tea rooms and marvel at the magnificent York Minster.

There are stately homes nearby including Sledmere House, Burton Constable Hall and Burton Agnes Hall. Castle Howard near Malton in North Yorkshire is also only a thirty minute drive away.

The seaside towns of Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough with their glorious golden beaches are all easily accessible by car, and slightly further afield (forty miles) is Whitby with its stunning Abbey and the picturesque seaside villages of Robin Hoods Bay and Staithes.

Garton on the Wolds is situated within a few miles of the Wolds Way national walking trail. The tranquil countryside, described by David Hockney as the land of “big skies”, provides an ideal location for those who enjoy walking, cycling or horse riding. The area is also home to many nature reserves within the Yorkshire Nature Triangle, including Flamborough Head and the RSPB Seabird Centre at Bempton Cliffs, England’s largest mainland seabird colony.

The peaceful rural position of Church Farm offers an ideal base for exploring this wonderful part of Yorkshire along with its many attractions.

The Granary is a first floor converted farm building that is attached to Church Farm and located off a quiet lane. It provides comfortable holiday accommodation which retains many original features and is fully equipped for two guests. External stone steps lead up to the Granary where you can enjoy lovely views over the open fields and the Wolds beyond.

Awarded 4 Star Gold, the open-plan accommodation comprises of:

  • Living area with comfortable seating, smart TV, CD/DAB radio.
  • Dining area with table and chairs.
  • Fully equipped kitchen with fan oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge and freezer, dishwasher and washing machine/dryer.
  • King size/twin bedroom with smart TV.
  • Ensuite bath/shower room.

Outside: There is a garden and terrace for guest's enjoyment. Well fenced grass paddock for the enjoyment of guests and their canine companions.

Additional information: The price includes central heating, hot water, electricity, bed linen and towels. Short breaks are offered all year round. One or two well behaved dogs are very welcome, but only by prior arrangement and a charge for pets if appropriate. Complimentary wifi.
