About Talbot House

Talbot House was designed with families in mind. The modern detached holiday rental in Filey is barely a five-minute stroll from the beach and even closer to shops, cafes, local eateries and pubs. Filey may be a favourite holiday destination, but it has a thriving community of locals, making it a great choice for a coastal holiday in any season. The three-bedroom holiday home sleeps six people, with guests enjoying lots of space indoors and outside.

Filey has so much to see and do that keeping everyone happy on days out will not be a problem. Let's start with the beach, which was named by the Sunday Times as the 2018 Beach of the Year due to its huge sandy expanse protected by cliffs and topped with a lovely coastal walk along the rocky Filey Brigg where you can explore caves and rock pools. Continue along the Cleveland Way from Filey Brigg Walk for impressive views and the sort of fresh sea breeze that will leave you with rosy cheeks, hair like a dandelion and a huge smile. In addition to the beach, Filey's attractions include Filey Brigg Country Park, a local museum, golf course, and the Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park. Take your binoculars to the RSPB Bempton Cliff Reserve, or wriggle into your wetsuit to go diving, coasteering, paddle-boarding, and kayaking.

Spend a day in the lively seaside resort town of Scarborough, visiting Peasholm Park, Scarborough Castle and SEA LIFE Scarborough. Bridlington is also close, with the Bayle Museum and Sewerby Hall and Gardens, and the confectioner's John Bull, where you can take your teeth on a factory tour of their World of Rock. Walk out to Flamborough Lighthouse, or drive to magnificent Castle Howard and play at being Lord or Lady for a day. York is around an hour by car or train from Talbot House, so you can also explore this ancient city with Roman, Viking and medieval history.

Talbot House is available for bookings all year round. Standard bookings run from Saturday to Saturday, but short breaks and longer stays are possible, depending on availability.

Accommodation Comprises:

Talbot House is a modern detached home in a residential area with accommodation over two levels.

Downstairs:

  • Welcoming entrance hall with coat hooks and a shoe rack so you can store all of your outdoor clothing neatly.
  • Light-filled living room with a picture window looking into the rear garden and patio doors for side access to the garden. There is comfortable seating, a 43-inch Smart TV with a DVD player for keeping up with your favourite shows, and a guest pack with lots of information about the local area to help you plan fun-filled days out.
  • Kitchen/diner with everything you'll need to self-cater for your hungry family, including a big fridge/freezer with a water dispenser. An island has six stools for eating meals, and there are windows to the front and rear of the house to ensure the room has plenty of natural light all day long.
  • Large storage cupboard with cleaning equipment, an iron and ironing board, and a highchair for guests who need it.
  • Cloakroom with a WC and a handbasin.

Upstairs:

  • Carpeted stairs lead to the first floor landing and three bedrooms.
  • Master bedroom suite with a double bed, wardrobe, bedside cabinet and a wall-mounted Smart TV. The ensuite has a shower, WC and a handbasin.
  • Twin room with a full-sized (3ft-wide) and a standard (2ft 6in) single bed which can be combined to create a large double if required.
  • Third bedroom with a single bed and a pull-out trundle. Alternatively, this room can have one single bed and a travel cot, or remain as a lovely single room. Please let the owner know your preferred layout when booking.
  • Family bathroom with a shower over the bath, WC and a handbasin.

Outside: Talbot House has parking for three cars at the rear, an enclosed rear garden with lawn and a sunny sheltered patio with garden furniture.

Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi and bed linen are included. Guests to provide towels and cot bedding. Smoking is not permitted.
