Partridge Cottage is a fantastic place to stay when on holiday in Yorkshire. The beautifully presented self-catering cottage has everything couples need, from a romantic four-poster bed to a luxuriously deep rolltop bath and a private outdoor hot tub. The location is as appealing as the accommodation. Partridge Cottage is on a 400-acre arable farm close to the scenic village of Stamford Bridge, ten miles from York and within easy reach of the spectacular Yorkshire Coast. It's one of three attractive holiday cottages on the farm, and these can be booked on their own or together to accommodate extended families or friends who enjoy each other's company but still like their own space.
Stamford Bridge is barely two miles from Partridge Cottage. It is a quiet village in the desirable East Riding of Yorkshire - a region renowned for the beauty of its countryside and coast. It's an ideal location for a walking holiday with plenty of footpaths, bridleways and cycle routes to explore. You're only five miles from the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and don't forget the amazing views from the coastal footpath around Bridlington and Flamborough. The historic village sits beside the River Derwent and was settled by the Romans. It was the site of King Harold's victory over the Vikings in 1066, shortly before being defeated at Hastings by William the Conquerer. There's a lovely walk that links two bridges and passes through a conservation area and a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Stamford Bridge has a pub, small supermarket and cafes. There's a farm shop nearby, and you're within easy reach of larger supermarkets near York.
Days out can include sightseeing and shopping in the ancient city of York, birdwatching at the RSPB Reserve at Bempton Cliffs, or touring magnificent country houses and stately homes like Castle Howard. Bring or hire a bicycle to tour the countryside and work up an appetite for a rib-sticking wedge of cake or pub meal, or browse at one of the area's traditional markets for fresh ingredients to cook back at the cottage. However you prefer to spend your days, Partridge Cottage will give you a wonderfully warm Yorkshire welcome.
