Barn Owl Cottage is a welcoming holiday home for couples, families or friends, including guests with limited mobility who need to avoid stairs. Tucked away on a 400-acre arable farm in East Riding of Yorkshire, it blends oak beams, rustic brick, and beautiful hardwood floors with highly comfortable furnishings and a private garden featuring an outdoor hot tub. The two-bedroom cottage sleeps four people and is one of three on the farm just two miles from Stamford Bridge, close to York and the Howardian Hills, and within easy reach of the Yorkshire Coast.
Sitting beside the River Derwent it is hard to picture Stamford Bridge as a bustling Roman settlement or the site of a bloody Viking battle as you walk around the nature reserve or cross one of its two striking stone bridges. Yet, its past features both of those events together with thousands of years of ordinary people shaping the landscape you see today. A picturesque walk through a nature reserve takes in both bridges, a conservation area, and a Site of Special Scientific Interest. You will also find a small supermarket, cafes and a pub here, and there's an excellent farm shop nearby.
You'll never run out of things to do during a holiday in Yorkshire. The opportunities for walking, cycling, horseriding and golf are almost endless. Tour the countryside or hike your way along the coast around Bridlington and Flamborough Head. Go bird watching at Bempton Cliffs or see more exotic species at Tropical Zoo. Other local attractions include Flamingo Land and Castle Howard. York is barely ten miles west of Barn Owl Cottage, tempting everyone from history buffs to gourmands and shopaholics.
You can book Barn Owl Cottage together with one or both of the other holiday cottages on the farm, making it ideal for separate families who want to holiday together without sacrificing space and privacy.

Outside: Dine alfresco on the deck or relax in the private outdoor hot tub. There is plenty of parking close to the cottage.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen, and bath towels are available. Bathrobes can be hired for a small fee. A travel cot (no bedding) and a highchair are available. Please note that the cottage is adjacent to an A road. Stag and hen parties are not permitted. The owner regrets they cannot accept pets. All properties on the farm are non-smoking.
