About Glenview House

Glenview House is a stylish period property in the seaside town of Filey, barely a five-minute stroll from the award-winning beach. The spacious holiday house is child-friendly, pet-friendly and has all the space and features families could wish in a self-catering property, including four beautiful bedrooms with room for up to eight people. Shops, cafes, and independent pubs like the multi CAMRA awarded Bonhomme Bar are all within strolling distance.

Filey couldn't be better for a holiday in any season. The beach is a sandy five-mile stretch of shore, so, even in the summer holidays, when excited children add a delightful thrum to the backdrop, it never feels crowded. The Times recognised Filey as the Best Beach in England in 2018, with judges praising it as being very family-friendly with rockpools, a sculpture trail, crazy golf, a children's playground, and clean, calm water ideal for swimming, paddle boarding and having fun. You may be lucky enough to spot a seal sunning themselves in spring or porpoises frolicking in the warm summer waters. A walk along the coast between Bempton and Filey Brigg affords spectacular views over Filey Bay, while Cobble Landing is a top choice to sit with a cup of tea or ice cream. Filey has an excellent choice of restaurants, cafes and takeaways, a Tesco supermarket, and a well-curated local museum.

Being close to the North York Moors means that there's plenty to do inland, including scenic walks, mountain biking and horse riding. The resort town of Scarborough is 15 minutes north of Filey, with a castle, waterpark and the beautiful Peasholm Park. Historical Whitby is also close, offering the opportunity to take a whale watching tour, wander along the pier, and see the Abbey, which inspired Bram Stokes' Dracula. Sandsend is a quiet fishing village with a long beach ideal for fossil-hunting. Alternatively, fossick for fossils at Robin Hood's Bay, where the Old Coastguard Station has a good museum explaining the geology of the Yorkshire Coast.

Guests of Glenview House rave about the location, layout and period features, with many returning for fun holidays with family and friends year after year.

Accommodation Comprises:

Glenview House is an elegant Victorian property on a quiet road opposite a lovely park. It has a large garden and accommodation over three levels.

The owners have created a boutique-hotel atmosphere by using calming shades of cream and white, beautiful furnishings and blackout curtains that let you sleep as long as you like without being disturbed by the morning sun. The super-kingsize (6ft-wide) bed has a deep mattress and is made up using quality bedlinen.
  • Twin bedroom with two full-sized single beds with deep mattresses, blackout curtains, and the same high standard of furnishings as the rest of the house.
  • Family bathroom with a bath, separate walk-in shower, WC and a handbasin.

Top Floor:

  • Ensuite room with a comfortable double bed, bedside tables with reading lights, and blackout curtains. The ensuite has a bath, walk-in shower, WC and a handbasin.
  • Twin room with two single beds, oak beams, a skylight for stargazing before sleep, built-in cupboards, and a full-sized cot. There is also a travel cot available if required.

There is a garage providing parking for one car (or bike storage) as well as on-street parking opposite the house or 100 yards away in the car park attached to the golf course.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. Guests to provide cot bedding and beach towels if they are required. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome through prior arrangement. Smoking is not permitted.
