Sewerby Gardeners Cottage is a refined two-bedroom holiday home offering comfort, privacy, and a touch of heritage in the coastal village of Sewerby, East Yorkshire, a stone's throw from the historic Ship Inn pub. Once part of Sewerby Hall estate, this thoughtfully renovated property now offers boutique-style accommodation for guests looking for a more distinctive self-catering stay. The cottage combines the character of its original features with a calm, contemporary style that will appeal to 21st-century lifestyles and the desire for relaxed comfort. The kitchen is equipped for all your self-catering needs, while the two bedrooms are luxuriously furnished with an ensuite in bedroom 1. The living area is bright and inviting, a place to settle in with a book or plan the day ahead. Step outside and you'll find south facing decking area and a fenced private garden with luxurious corner sofa and BBQ. It is quiet, sheltered, and ideal for eating outdoors or simply sitting with a drink as the day draws to an end.
The cottage sits just a few minutes' walk from the gates of Sewerby Hall and Gardens, a beautifully kept country estate with parkland, a small zoo, and panoramic views over Bridlington Bay. A footpath through the grounds leads directly to the coastal clifftops, where you can walk along the headland to Flamborough, or take the land train down into Bridlington. This stretch of coastline is known for its wide-open skies, walking trails, and wildlife-rich landscapes. Sewerby itself is a quiet, well-kept village with a traditional pub, award winning restaurant, model village, golf courses and tearooms. It's a lovely place to return to after exploring the East Yorkshire coast.
Further afield, there's plenty to see within easy reach. The RSPB nature reserve at Bempton Cliffs is one of the UK's top spots for puffin spotting, while Flamborough Head offers dramatic views, lighthouse walks, and secluded beaches. You can also head inland to explore Beverley, known for its historic Minster and lively market town atmosphere, or spend the day browsing galleries and independent shops in other Yorkshire coastal towns like Bridlington, Scarborough and Whitby. You're within easy reach of York and other favourite attractions, including Scarborough Pier and Castle. Yorkshire is renowned for the quality of its cycling routes - on and off-road - and is also a favourite spot for walking.
Whether you're planning coastal walks, a quiet escape by the sea, or a week of sightseeing across East Yorkshire, Sewerby Gardeners Cottage is a comfortable and well-positioned base for your stay.
